It's Aztec (Nahuatl). Eztlicoatl literally means "
Bloodsnake", or "
Bloodserpent".

You shall find Eztlicoatl shall get in on the joke by blotting out the sun for a whole year or more . . .

But there is a goddess of earth, which I think could just as easily cause one. And I think the amount of wind required to cause something like a tsunami would be more devastating than the tsunami itself would be.

INFLUENCED
avalanche (rain)
erosion (rain)
landslide (rain)
sunshine/blue skies (lack of precipitation/wind/rain)
dust devil (wind/drought)
dust storm (wind/drought)
flash flood (rain)
rainbow (precipitation)
sandstorm (wind/drought)
Avalanches are usually influenced not by rain or weather at all but by weight. Of course, if the avalance is of snow, then it could be influenced by weather especially if you kept snowing and snowing and snowing.

But if it were an avalance of rocks, for example, i think it would be influenced by weight.
Also, I agree with Syl that a tsunami is influenced more by tectonic forces than by weather. From Wikipedia:
A tsunami (IPA: /(t)sʊˈnɑːmi/) is a series of waves created when a body of water, such as an ocean, is rapidly displaced. Earthquakes, mass movements above or below water, volcanic eruptions and other underwater explosions, landslides, large meteorite impacts comet impacts and testing with nuclear weapons at sea all have the potential to generate a tsunami.
Of course, you could always create a storm underwater to replace the ocean, thus causing a tsunami. hehehehe.

I thank you for the information.

Ah...I like the possibilities of what the AllFather may choose to have occur during an eclipse...
I don't know if I would choose to have one last quite that
long, but I do not believe we have seen an eclipse on Eiran yet

Uh... yep. It was one of the random events, like comets appearing in the sky, that either moralises or demoralises your people.

There was an eclipse? Not posted publicly then, huh?
Interesting.
...thinking since it affects the light parts of Eiran receives, said G-ddess would have been informed...

I had no idea, but that makes sense. Snow it is then.

Rocks have avalanches?

Hmmm... maybe a hurricane that takes a large portion of the seawater into the sky, and then cuts off suddenly dumping all that water back in.
That or I could just make a nuke.

Knowing that a tsunami is caused by undersea earthquakes, whoever gets hit with one would be unlikely to suspect you of doing what Syl said. Yeah, you
could do at least as much damage directly with wind. But if you did, the victim would know it was you. OTOH, a huge expenditure of wind in the middle of the ocean would likely go unnoticed.

We don't have a moon god, but another factor for a tsunami would be the tides. A tsunami that came ashore at high tide would be more destructive than one at low tide. A
seiche, caused by thunderstorms, could be a nasty little surprise for someone along the shore of a large constricted body of water like a lake or bay.

So a seiche is a wave that isn't moving? Like one end of the lake, higher than the other? This confuses me.

The list of available races is now added to the rules. Please keep in mind that races are now numerically balanced - i.e. all major races start with the same point total distributed among the five skills (described in the rules) and possible unique skills (such as being extremely adaptable to adverse conditions, or being a shapeshifter). Minor races also all start with the same point total, which is slightly higher than that of the major races. However, minor races are less fertile.
In short, no single race is superior to another in all ways: rather, each race excels in one skill or perhaps is competent in two or three, but each race has always at least one skill where it is defective - sometimes completely inept at it.
I did not list the numerical values for each race on purpose, to avoid min-maxing and precise planning; you'll discover the strengths and weaknesses of the various races as you play the game

Hmm. Decisions decisions. It's a tossup between two races, one major, one minor.

Oh crap... Tree Elders certainly forces me to rethink things... With my Revelation already written - final draft complete and everything - I hate to do it. But I'll have to think....
