Hey folks, just wanted to poke my head in and apologize for the serious delays these last couple weeks. I thought last week was bad, but I've been doing 17-19hr days all week, usually overnight. Some low-level admin monkey accidentally broke something huge in my customer's network, and we've been working around the clock to fix it all week. We got service restored this morning, in a duct-tape and bubble-gum kind of way. Tonight we'll finish up the rest of the fix with actual plywood and staples and stuff. (That was a metaphor... this is all really computer stuff.)

So, I'm hoping to be able to start posting again early next week. With luck, I can get things all caught up so everybody (even Lament) can get back to posting. There won't be any XP granted this weekend, sadly, since you've all been waiting on me for over a week. Nobody's been able to do anything, so it's not unfair to any of you that I give nothing to all of you.

Thank you for your understanding.

We should all get one point of xp for showing patience.

Okie, really it's that I want to be that much closer to my next point expenditure. Sooooo close I can almost smell it on the tip of my tongue. T-T

I am agreeing with the noblewoman. I say Coochi Coochi too.

And... since you asked, the answer is "no".

In fact, let me tell you a little story. No, that takes too long. I'll sum up.

Had four assignments due this past weekend. Did three, but the fourth was worth 25% of my grade in one class. The prof gave me an extension until Monday, so I'm working on it now. And tomorrow.

Looking ahead, not next weekend, but the weekend after that there are three assignments due, with similar scary percentages attached to them. After that, there's nothing else due until the end of the quarter (Dec 11th), when the final projects are due.

So, I'll just declare now that I probably won't get any useful postings done until around Thanksgivings. Expectations set. No whinings. (There will probably be nummy yum-yums waiting for you once we get that far.)

For those in the Giovanni thread, can we agree to just fast-forward through everyone getting on the carriage and it arriving somewhere? (I still have several PMs to go through that will probably need to be sorted out before we can do the arrival part, but I'll have to deal with those in a few weeks.)

Special apologies to Lament and Faelan, since they haven't had a chance to get well and properly addicted to the storyline like the others. Hopefully you'll be able to make it through this dry spell and then there will be free hits of crack all around.

"Hey! Little boy. Why don't you just take a puff?"

Sounds like Pantheon waiting until The AllFather returns works out just fine for you. Forza! StoryTeller. The end of the semester is in sight.

I'm fine with that, though my last question to the GM was whether we were passing through town or not. Since it was mostly going to be public, I'll just put it here for now in case we want to do the fast forward.

I wanted to let my retainers know we were still ambulatory, we had dispatched enough elders to hopefully satisfy Hardestadt, further confuse Roderigo to my/our loyalties, have them gather equipment, and tell them of a wagon I learned of. Also maybe grab a quick drink.

The stuff with Roderigo I had in mind can wait until we arrive, even if it would make more sense having talked it over on the road. I'm going to mention it here though so people can remind me upon our return.

Feel free to do an IC thread to discuss stuff amongst yourselves, while in the back of the carriage en route to stuff. I see no reason you can't stop to update your ghouls on the way. Consider it a chance for some free-form role-playing.

Any chance we'll be passing through Alína's and Seska's home lands on this journey?

Quite the other direction, in fact. The County of Karantanija is NNE of here. Japheth's monastary is SSW, across the river. You will have to go back through the village where the ghouls are to get to the bridge across the river, though.

The county is Tótkomlós. Karantanija was much, much further to the west.

Listen here, little girl. Do NOT make me get out Paint.exe and try to write Karantanija in bright red across the map. I'll do it!

And so, as I'd suggested, now that Thanksgivings weekend is here, I have caught up on my studies enough that I may resume Dark Aging. I'll get myself caught up this evening, especially on the many PMs still waiting to be read. Tomorrow, I'll be making some actual posts, so that we may resume our normal Sun / Tues / Thurs schedule.

Once again, thanks terribly for the patience through all this. I'm told that this first quarter is the most difficult of the program, though I suspect that part of that is because we're all trying to get used to doing school work on top of our normal lives. But, it seems to be more manageable now. I guess I have the flow down.

More tomorrow, as I think of it.

So, it's technically Sunday and I've finished all the posts. I still have a bunch of stuff people sent me as transcriptions, but I'll have to futz with the formatting on them. In the future, please check with me before sending transcribed stuff. It can sometimes accrue in a backlog on my side, so it's possible that you might transcribe something that someone else has already done, but I just haven't posted to the forum yet.

At the moment, I have something like 6 PMs and 6 emails with various amounts of transcriptions in them. There will be xp for all those who've sent stuff in.

Also, I'm just about ready to start storing stuff up on GoogleDocs, at least as far as character sheets and tally stats. Things like current XP, willpower, blood pool, rage, and gnosis are all ready to be stored up there. If everybody can send me the gmail account you'd like me to share with, I can make your info available to you, without anybody else being able to see it. As part of this, since I have not heretofore been tracking anything except XP, I'm just unilaterally declaring that everybody is back up to full on all the rest (willpower and blood for vamps, will / rage / gnosis for the changers). I'd thought (but not communicated to you) that you were tracking those things yourself, and while some of you were not all of you were. So, I'll own that mistake, and this GoogleDocs solution is how I'm gonna fix it.

In other news, I have previously been retiscent to bring the World of Darkness games Hunter and Demon into this world, just to avoid extra complications. However, in response to Zxkuqyb's reqests to players for a new Demon game, I'm looking over those rules as well. I can imagine a time when I'd allow a player to run a demon character. Maybe a hunter as well, or a keui-jin. Of course, I'm at the actual maximum (maybe a bit over) players I can manage right now, so... no new players. But if anyone's character dies off (intentionally or not), there become maybe some extra options for replacement characters. They also make some interesting NPCs I hadn't thought of before.

Seska Karantanija wrote:What if tell them during this trip we came to an 'agreement' that you became one of our ghouls? As a poke in the eye to Hardestadt, of course. Perhaps the good woman Alina since you share the same faith. If 'claimed' by her and you played the part, we could tone down your ill treatment, and be a source of vitae if you end up needing it. We have all evening, so think on it."
uhm, OK. I apparently missed something.
Didn't Roderigo take offense at our lack of faith in JC while at Haedestadt's? Or am I confusing PC's?

I honestly do not recall the mention of anyone else Jewish in this chronicle, other than Alína's father and husband. Can someone enlighten me, please?

Seska is an old gods type pagan. Christianity, Judaism, Islam, and any off-shoots, sub-sects, or anything that might even possibly be related are all the same to her. They all care about the Holy Land, so they've got to be the same, right? That there are important differences will be forever lost on her.

(Extra OOC, she has two massive flaws about religion. I try downplay them a lot to not be outright offensive, but suffice to say she has... serious misconceptions.)

Roderigo got into the dispute with a comment to Seska and then Taduz stepped in to really tweak him. I don't think Alina was commented on one way or the other. Nor if he'd actually feel like Seska suggested, and GK hasn't elaborated one way or the other. Yet, at least.
