dlb, sorry about that. I felt we ran it up a bit unnecessarily. Anyhow, good luck the rest of the way.

...ditto...
As I told SBG in a PM, it's too early in the season for such talk. Or even in Tebow's career. Give him time to improve yet.

Ouch, what an ass-whoopin' we endured yesterday. I told Menolly in the phone call that I was giving Florida and 17 yesterday morning at the hospital and no one would take Tennessee or the under. It's painfully clear that UT doesn't have the athletes to match up with Florida (or coaches either.) We have much work to do.
Congrats, Menolly and Exnihilo! Condolences to SGB as well - that was a shocker!

I think we are seeing a transition in the way offenses are run at the collegiate level. The dink and dunk ball control stuff seems antiquated versus the spread.

LSU's defense will be Tebow's downfall.
Just like Tony Romo was the NFL's golden boy until he met the Saints last year, so will it be with Mr. Tebow.
Mark this date : Saturday, October 6th, 8 pm in the REAL Death Valley.
My prediction is that Mr. Tebow won't be getting much sleep that week.

...LSU currently is the talk here in Gator Town...
...as long as the coaches and team focus on one game at a time...

I agree, even the CBS announcers were making similar comments.

Isn't it all cyclic though?
The spread may become the offensive style of choice, and defenses will be developed against it. And then, five years hence or so, some "innovative" assistant coach will sneak in a dink and dunk ball control series, and no one will be prepared to defend against it.
Or is that not how it works?

Perhaps. I'm no coach, but one thing is clear - if you're going to be a ball control team, then a powerful offensive line is an absolute necessity, along with a smash-mouth running back. TN has neither right now.

Pheh, dlb
danlo took me by the campus (and Lady Tam's hospital, IIRC)
I think from what I saw the school deserves danlo's loyalty
