I sat watching the moon just before. I remember sitting out the front of Cag's house at night. There were a few of us sitting there. But I remember Danlo talking to me, and I remember looking up at the moon which had whorls of clouds around it.

It was a Denver Moon out there just now.

And it's a month since I left Denver.

Remember that day Lucimay: we ate at the place where Billy Bob Thornton had been (was it a taco bell?)...saw his signature on a photo in a frame on the wall; and we listened to Australian Irish music featuring a didgeridoo on the radio; and it rained; and we had coffee at flying J's, only to find the Starbucks a little later on--the Starbucks with the guy who opened the door...and the one that made us coffee and spoke about pride week.

I yelled at you in the car but you still came to the hotel with me; and there was the cop there who got out of his car and pulled his gun. "Is that a gun?!" you said. "I think it's a f*cking gun!" I said.

I remember the day I left Denver.

...and I just needed to get that off my chest.
it was a DQ. (dairy queen)

you memorized all the moons,
counted the yucca,
took pictures of the hotel rooms
and documented the mile markers,
navigating us from point to point
with little or no effort and always,
always knew where we were going.

the only things i memorized
were the sound of your laughter,
the clouds in your eyes when it
looked like rain,
images of you dancing through
the series of nameless towns,
the lilting lullabye of another continent
in your dusky contralto singing
i'll forget you everyday,
and the safety i felt
knowing you were there.

thanks again thelma...thanks for the trip.
miss you.

<sigh> I looked at the moon this morning on my way to work. It occurred to me, as well, that the last time the moon was full, we were all together.... I'm torn over whether to do a scrapbook for the Denver Seafest, like I did for last year's E-fest. I think the people who really need to do the scrapbook are Thelma and Louise. ;)

Anyway.

Here's how my afternoon is going: I was cold, so I went to the kitchen to get some coffee. Then I remembered that a co-worker told me last week how to make an iced coffee, for free. So I made myself an iced hazelnut decaf skim Splenda-enhanced iced coffee. And then I remembered that I originally wanted coffee because I was cold. So I put on a sweater.

Happy Monday, all....

I'm wrung out. It's 92 outside, but the heat index is 96.

I don't want to be at work, but there isn't much I can do about it. I still have one appointment left, and after that I'll go home an hour early. It's the best I can do. :?

I'm trying to have more healthy eating habits, but find it tough going. This morning some nice person brought donuts to the office. . . not that I'm overly tempted by Krispy Kremes, but still. Bah!

And I can't get ahold of a friend, and am starting to get a bit worried. :(

Try a different one. They can't all be shunning you. :P

Ok, a little tasteless, but ho ho ho?

Lyr, I hope things improve for you.

I'm doing pretty darn good for a Monday, especially one where I have to work in the evening. This weekend the family and I went to stay at a large water park in the Wisconsin Dells with two other families. We had a blast. There was very little "adult" relaxation time - mostly because the kids chose not to nap. Or go to bed before 10pm. And get up at 6am because they were all so excited..... But it was a fantastic time. :) Water slides rule! 8)

(Avoid the next part if "cute kid" stories bug you..... ;) )

The best part was when we asked our son at the end of the trip what his favorite part was. He thought, then said "Playing with the babies." (Each of the other families has a 1 year old.) That made us feel pretty good about his ability to handle the new baby when it shows up for us.

Then we asked him what his favorite ride was - thinking I just hadn't been clear enough before. He replied "The shuttle bus to the water park." He makes me laugh. :D

Hope you feel better soon man. I had a serious 2-week blocked ear a couple months back. Took anti-hystemines, a steroid shot, nothing. Eventually it sorted itself out. I hated it.

Get well, danlo! Listen to some soothing New Age or classical therpaies. Well, I finally get to see The Dark Knight. My luck considered, it's only natural that last night I had a case of insomnia. I hope I don't fall asleep during this film, but I somehow doubt it, after what I've heard about Heath Ledger's performance.

It's Tuesday and already my boss is driving me a bit batty. 8O We have this infiniti that is giving us problems and he yelled at me that we should not take stuff like this in. I asked him, do you not want to do any diagnostics anymore ever or should I be psychic enough to know upon the car driving in if it's going to cause problems or not? Grrrr. I know he's frustrated but it's not my freaking fault. On the good side of things I got to spend my morning looking at some of the pics from my best friend's wedding. That was cool. Some amazingly silly ones of me. :P

Bummer about the cold, MsMary. Summer colds suck. You and danlo, feel better quick!

Stay cool, Lyr! And good thoughts for your friend.

It's supposed to be in the mid-90s here again today. I am avoiding going outside. It rained this morning, which means the humidity will be terrific now. And not in a good way -- unless you *like* walking outside and feeling like a wet dishrag just whacked you in the face. :P

He actually walked away from me when I said that. No response. I think he realized he was being a jerk. I usually just nod my head and try to ignore him but he really got on my nerves this morning. I think it was my weird lack of sleep. I woke up several times in the night and had trouble getting back to sleep. I totally hate that.

I'm with Cj, as far as a reason why they should be shared here. As long as those whose wedding it was don't mind them being shared here.

Well if she objects, someone can shout "By the Seven! You're more afraid of photographs than you are of weakness!" and she can respond "Yes. Yes I am."
