[rant] Got a flat tire last night while with a client. I got an employee of the business to help change it. . . one of the few times I've pretended to be a clueless female. There was no way I was going to change it while wearing a short skirt and a white tshirt. Oh, and I forgot to mention I didn't have my cell phone with me, so I couldn't call roadside assistance. Turns out a wire went through the sidewall. End result: had to take off work this afternoon, drive 30 miles to where I bought the damn tire only to find out it wasn't covered under road hazard since it went in the side of the tire. We tried a patch (since he hole was the size of a pinhole), and for that privilege I paid $16.

I have the rest of the day off, but it kinda sucks since this is my easy day anyhow. [/rant]

Thanks, ali. I sure hope I feel better quick. I still have that test hanging over my head.

I had to give up studying this afternoon and take a nap.

Please ignore if you don't want to read my complaints.
[rant]I am feeling extremely irritated. My youngest sister (11 years old) still thinks that repeating the same question over and over, and whining and crying in between, is a useful and effective tactic for getting what she wants (even though whenever she tries that with our parents she gets punished). Both my parents were away today, so I had to be around to decide whether or not she could do certain things and to mediate conflicts. I had to tell her "no" for at least five different things today, and she disagreed with all of them for several minutes at a time. Then she and my brother had an argument for over an hour and a half over whether she and her friends could use my brother's brand-new game system. The argument consisted of my sister asking my brother to let her use the game system, him saying no, her crying for about five minutes, and the whole thing repeating over and over and over and over and over....
Meanwhile, my sister's parakeet dies. Just plops over dead. (No joke.) This gets her to stop fighting with my brother temporarily, only because she is wailing about a bird she never paid any attention to before except to wish that it didn't exist. Less than three minutes later, she is back to arguing with my brother about the game system again. Half an hour later I manage to mediate a compromise between them. That was an hour ago, and I'm still ticked off at my sister. Maybe because she made me take care of removing the dead parakeet from the house. Dead parakeets feel really gross.[/rant]
I also am feeling worried. I have a very important set of tests on Saturday morning that will determine whether or not I get to continue on the path towards being a teacher. I must pass them in order to qualify for certification when I graduate in a year and a half, and also to qualify for student teaching in a year and for some of my upcoming classes.
Sorry this post is so long, especially if you actually read this far.

Today I feel crushed after seeing Cameraman Jenn's pictures in the album. I didn't know it was Julie getting married. My backup is gone.

Other than that, I just feel the urge to pee.

Auleliel,

I was the oldest child in our family growing up and learned the hard way that often the role of older sibling isn't easy. Many times I did a far far poorer job than it sounds like you did. Best of luck on your tests this Saturday!

Got a letter from a debt collector about a debt I don't have. Now I have to try and find out what the hell's happened. I don't anyone anything (not even credit cards/loans etc) so this is utter balls, but I suspect it's not going to be easy to eliminate.

Cj, does the letter say what the debt it? If not, it could be a screw up in the financial department at school.

Auleliel, sometimes being the baby of the family influences maturity.

As far as the tests go, I am positive you'll pass with flying colors!
I know that won't help the stress beforehand and during, but perhaps knowing we all have confidence in you will help.

Go tame that tiger.

It's Wednesday. I just get past today and I am halfway to the weekend. I got a list of chores to do this week which had best be done by Sunday or I'll have to really bitch myself out. 8O Other than impending chores, life is good. I got an external dvd burner yesterday and I'm gonna try and install it and use it tonight. Wish me luck everyone! :P

During one period of my life, I got regular monthly letters about a debt for medical services I supposedly owed. There was only an address to mail payment, no info about what the charge was for, and no person to whom to address a letter. Finally, I got a letter from a lawyer. I wrote back to him stating that I had never heard of the medical agency requesting payment and that I had no idea what the charge was for. I never heard from any of them again.

My brother checked my credit report (he can do that through his job) and he said I have no outstanding debts. That, combined with the fact that he'd never heard of this collection agency, made him think it might be a fake, trying to get my bank details or some such. But he did some investigation and stuff, and he says the agency seems legit. So all I can do is call them tomorrow and see if they'll tell me what it's all about. There is apparently a small chance that it's intended for someone with the same name as me.

My gratitude for my brother's help was somewhat offset by him joining my mum in demanding that I shave and get a haircut. For pity's sake, people, do you have nothing better to do? :?
