I feel like I'm home. :) Back from Europe, getting caught up on the little bits that piled up while I was away. This includes all the KW posts I missed. :)

Sorta ran myself ragged in London and Wales and Oxford -- which was not the plan, but there was so much great stuff to see and ... well, you know. :) I took pictures like a madwoman. And after being a total Culture Vulture for two weeks, I got a nifty little pop bonus at the end: tickets to an advance screening of the BBC Doctor Who spinoff Torchwood, the night before I left. It was GREAT. :D

Glad to see everybody posting and KW-ing. It gives me the fuzzies. :)

And Luci, I'm so sorry about Churchill's health. It's dreadful when a loved kitty goes on the decline. Much hugs to you.

Sorry about your kitty Luci! :( We lost Chanel the calico this Summer, at just 5, rampant kidney disease...it's very tough...

Sorry to hear about your kitty Lucimay. My thoughts and prayers are with you. I have three myself and I'm not sure what I'm gonna do when the oldest gets sick.....he'll be 13 this year.

once again i thank you all for all your well wishes and thoughts.
it means so very much to me to have you all wishing the old guy well.

i went to vet this morning to learn how to inject subcutaneous fluids.
got the stick right on the first try. it seems i am a natural with a needle.
who knew!

Church is a bit more lively today. he really enjoys going out into the world. he rides in his soft carrier with his little head poked out of the top so he can survey his surroundings. he ate a bit of food this morning and requested a burger treat when we got home from the vet so i gave him his raw ground sirloin. he ate most of a couple of ounces.

thank again for all you kind well wishes.

He's a very handsome lad!

I am excited....my trainee won't be coming in today which means I get to leave work 2.5 hours earlier than I thought!! I then have time to do all the things that I blew off yesterday afternoon!!

Aww, Luci, Churchy is beautiful! Hope he continues on the mend!

I am *tired* today. And no illegal substances were involved (darn the luck!). Drove to Roanoke with Younger Daughter on Thursday for Family Weekend at Batty's school; on Friday, drove to Staunton to see The Scottish Play at the Blackfriars Theater (a class assignment for Batty, and we decided we wanted to see the play too), then drove home; attended a memorial service Saturday for the head librarian at the girls' high school -- both have/had been library assistants throughout high school, and while they knew she was dying (she'd been fighting cancer for several years), it was still tough; drove back to Roanoke after the service Saturday night; spent a mostly sleepless night in a tent Saturday night (too much caffeine!); heard Batty's choir perform at chapel yesterday morning; then drove home. It's about 3.5 or 4 hours one-way to Roanoke. So I'm pretty tired. I almost stayed home today....

I've been sick for the better part of 2 weeks, and although all tests are negative, I'm certain that I have influenza, and let me tell you, this year's strain is ROUGH. Saturday morning I spent over 4 hours in the emergency room getting IV fluids, and I've been in bed pretty much since then.

Get your flu shots this year, folks!

My flu shot this year made me sick, but not as sick as when i got the real flu last year, i feel for you dlbpharmd.

Remember to keep warm and drink plenty! I mean water, not beers either :P And if you sweat heaps and get cramps you can try eating some salt.

Went fishing out in the Bay today....

I'm sunburned, windburned, still cold, and have that woozy been-drinkin'-all-day feeling.

Getting Chineese food delivered and going to bed.

I stayed up late last night, so I am very tired today. I just want to go back to sleep. Preferably with a lovely lady in my bed, too! ;)

Feel better!!! I get my shot every year because I have asthma. Last year my doctor ran out, so employee health gave me a shot left over after all the patients got one. :)

And Luci - your cat is one handsome and snuggly looking kitty! 8)
