Wisdom. Especially in the 40K setting where sentient knives are not unknown . . .

I had no idea! Thanks for the warning! I'll cancel my order from huntz's site immediately!

Haha!
On another note, I have added a Navigator's Eye rumour to the Lower Decks section of the Invictus Aeterna thread; as well as a new NPC to go with the Morgue entry.

Great description of Akreides. I'm imagining him being played by Vincent Price. Or perhaps an emaciated, bald Peter Cushing:
(talking to corpse while injecting embalming fluid through bionic fingers)
"A man who limits his interests, limits his life. Yesssss. But I can see you already know that...Mmmmm?"

Oh, the temptation to simply lift that quote...
I think an older Crispin Glover could also work for Akreides imagery. No direspect intended to Jeffrey Combs
Where did you get that Cushing-esque face from?

Its a face generator program. There was one of Vincent Price as well (they're all bald), but I enjoy that^ picture FAR too much.

I should say that Akreides does actually have hair.

Yes, yes of course. Mere fancy, I assure you. Do I even NEED excuses to post random pictures of Price everywhere? I think not. Now before we get too far off topic, heres Crispin Akriedes. I believe the parting is a perfect likeness.

"F-f-f-f-fs...the coldnessssss of the void is so
inviting. Won't you take a seat at my table? That's it, now lie down...
thissss won't take but a moment..."
And I can't believe I didn't mention Combs...

Yes, that's more like it. Just add a couple more decades age and we're almost there. I have to admit, I did watch
Willard last night but, I swear, only the hair influenced Akreides

I hate man flu. Of the last 24 hours I've spent 17 in bed. And now, at 3am local time, roughly when I normally go to bed, I'm wide awake and in bloody agony.
This shit makes suicide seem like the humane option

Sorry to read you're not feeling well, Dorian.
Feel better soon.
In the meantime, I'm merely popping in to wish the GM a Happy Birthday and will now pop out again...

Thanks, Menolly . . . even though I don't like fuss.
Anyway - I will be updating the thread some time tomorrow or tomorrow night. I think I'm just waiting on Praetus and Andrea to give directions, though Goatkiller may be away. I'll wait for Andrea for her post, but I'll update the main battle tomorrow. Praetus's directions would be good, but I can assume them.

I would like the best optics for me"; and then he could post a link to an eyewear warehouse or something. Certainly Huntz has raised some serious questions regarding just how far we can trust the weapons we use . . .
The mind is both the greatest weapon
and the greatest erogenous zone. I wonder at the significance of those two facts together...

A) I thought your name came from the D&D 3.0 sourcebook for fighter classes. Which is why I never believed your claims to have not done table-top RPGs. (Plus I'm pretty sure you ripped your avatar off from the cover of that book, though... it's been several years since I've browed 3.0 books, so... I wouldn't bet money that either of these statements is correct.)
B) "This is my sentient knife. I call it 'Fido'. Be careful, it even bites the hand that feeds it."
* - Yes, I'm very tired. Been staying up too late working, and lacking proper 'Net access. I shall be more rested by this weekend, I hope... then the jokes will (hopefully) not be quite so disjointed.

^I agree. Sufficiently brutal that even the Lt. Commander would approve upon hearing the news. If he isn't pasted by Garrius first

Real cool
How many wounds does that leave garrius all up?

he's finished kicking ass, so i guess that just leaves enough to take names now.

Thank you all. I was sufficiently pleased with how it all climaxed. Drak-Kung especially went close to the wire for burning a Fate Point or worse. One more round and he may not have been so lucky.
Garrius had some amazing luck with damage rolls. When I determined that he'd taken 5 hits, I was convinced he was going to be knocked out of the fight.
Dorian wrote:Real cool

Garrius should have
4 Wounds left. Almost everyone is very low in the Wounds count right now. Chirugical attention and several days convalescing will be the order of the day for a fair few PCs.
All I need to know now is what is being done with the strange techno-device. Once I know that, I'll move the game forward by at least five days.
EDIT: I also need to resolve the Librarium encounter first.
