I'm really sorry about this guys! I know how hard that can be losing a good friend and kitty-companion. Especially touching being a rescue; I believe that you all gave him a better life and he's in a better place now. <3 <3 <3

Are you going to find another kitteh to rescue any time soon, or give it some space?

Not right away, but probably eventually.

I usually end up waiting about six months after a loss. Not for any particular reason; that's just how long it seems to take a cat-sized hole in my heart to heal enough to be refilled. Different for everyone though.

Went off on Saturday to a sculpture exhibition, and on returning, noticed couple of the cats very interested in the GF's bedside table.
Not seeing anything amiss, we decided to leave well enough alone, until about 02h30 on Sunday morning, when Penny started going mad around the table.
Resigned, we kicked her out and started moving furniture and shoe boxes etc. to find a mid-sized rat hiding under it. This resulted in a bit of a 3am scramble to catch the damn rat. *sigh*

Sounds like fun.
Waiting to hear back from the vet on whether or not my youngest has yet another UTI. She has interstitial cystitis and a tendency for false positives on tests. Which isn't fun for either of us, since she turns into the Squirminator whenever she requires medication. I swear, my ferals were easier to medicate.

Haha, I dread the thought of needing to medicate Penny...she cries and squirms if you just pick her up. Can't imagine getting eye-drops into her or anything.

Fortunately my vet is pretty familiar with her condition and agrees that it's a false positive this time around. (White blood cells but no infection.) Phew.

Momma, I worked hard on that.
AND NOW YOU’VE GONE AND THROWN MY GIFT AWAY.
Momma...oo-oo-ooh...
Didn't think I'd make ya barf...
Should I try a bird instead this time tomorrow?
Or carrion?
Carrion?
It doesn't really matter...

Well, put Harley in a harness and took her to walk in the garden this morning, her first time outside for 5 months. Amazed by how well she took the harness actually...barely scratched the shit out of me at all getting her into it.
Technically could let her out now I guess, Vet happy with how she has healed. But that leg still can barely take her weight, so want to get her to exercise it a bit under controlled conditions...

Yes, we need pics!
I always thought Kara would enjoy the harness if she gave it a fair try. I can get it on her with no problem, but then she's one of those cats that immediately rolls over and refuses to budge until it's removed.

Apparently they think it's because it feels like being grabbed by a predator.
Harley, getting ready for walkies:
