Roland of Gilead wrote:If McCaffrey ever had it, folks, she's done lost it now.

She had it for sure. Her seed ideas are good but then they get overused and mined out. <grand mixing of metaphors>
Read the early ones of each McCaffrey series, Roland. Those are the fresh ones.

I am reading C.S. Lewis's
The Screwtape Letters. They are a series of letters from an older, more experienced demon to a younger one, about how he should best go about corrupting his "patient".

As soon as I can get them all together, I'm going to give Moorcock's Elric Saga another read. It has been years! Shadow and I are both going to re-read them, so we can really get involved better with danlo's thread at the Hangar

Right now I'm digging into some of my christmas presents. RA Salvatore's The Thousand Orcs--a silly D&D/Forgotten Realms book. I just finished the first Harry Potter book the other night.
Duchess---I've never read Pullman's books, but I recently read that his His Dark Materials series will be adapted to the big screen within the next few years.
Furl's---I love Elric! I think I'll add Moorcock to my re-read list!!

COOL!!! You'll have to come to the Hangar too! Danlo has started a Moorcock thread over there.

Ran out of stuff to read, so a quick rummage through the ship's library turned up Men at Arms by Pratchett (almost done... not his most shining work, but good enough to pass the time), and Eyes of the Calculor by Sean McMullen.

I have just started the last book of the Osten Ard series by Tad Williams: The Green Angel Tower.
I'm not a big fan of this series so far, but it has improved over the last two books and is supposed to have a nice twist in the end.
