The Crippled God... then a break from fantasy may be in order.

Aw, c'mon, Orlion...
Carol Berg's "The Spirit Lens". When I'm done with that one, the next one in the series awaits.

Hey, ali, how was Unincorporated Man, btw?
Edit: Also, I'll get to readying the Secret History of Moscow so I can get that to ya during the Fest.

No need.

I picked up a copy of "Secret History of Moscow" from the free table, and have already read it. I liked it.

Interested to hear what you think, if you get to it before E-fest.
Unincorporated Man was okay. I could see the dystopian world in the novel happening, right enough, but I thought the characters were a little cardboardy. There's apparently going to be a sequel, which I doubt I will look for -- not sure where the authors could plausibly take the story. Happy to bring it along to Albuquerque if you didn't get your own copy.

Yeah, it was in my bag as well. Sounds... Randian... I'll give both of those a shot along with Endymion after Crippled God... or during, who knows?

Pretty much the same with me. Started it long ago, but stopped.

Great. All I need is you buzzing through the trilogy in a week, and me still only halfway through the first book.

It was okay. Luci, I think you'd love
The City and the City. It's real noir-ish.

We should just rename the thread to "Avatar, what fantasy/science fiction book are you reading RIGHT NOW?"

I'm not rushing. Plan on taking at least 3 weeks for this trilogy.

What I really need though is to find the next series of it.

thanks ali but i can't justify buying another book on my kindle when i have this one that i can't get through. its kind of annoying to me too
because, as i said, there are aspects of his writing i like very much.
for anyone who's read it, i'm at the part where the cocoon just
hatched.
i've spent the last few nights (after logging off game) searching for
something to read. i have
The Black Company here but that's not
hooking me either. bah!
i prolly need to get
Stonewielder. i'm just broke.

Thinking about reading some A. E. VanVogt...even tho my nose should be in either MoI, AATE and/or The Farthest Shore. I need a quick Sci-Fi fix I've ready nothing but fantasy for the last 2 and a half years...

Hells, yeah! VanVogt's the bomb! Which one are you planning on reading? Voyage of the Space Beagle? (contains the short story said to have started the Golden Age of Science Fiction) Slan? The World of Null-A? Some short stories? Oh! The Weaponshops of Isher!
