Just got off the phone with my friend Paul. He just got another wave runner. For those of you planning to attend efest New England this might be exciting news as he would be willing to give wave runner tours.

Heads up though as Paul is a maniac and it doesn't sound as if age has mellowed him much. We are talking about a guy who used to try to part my hair with his stunt kite and I now find out had a friend build him an 8 foot wingspan stunt kite that actually imploded after lifting him ten feet off the ground in strong winds. He apparently thought that was brilliant fun even when impacting the sand with his body. Jeez I love that guy.

Lately I've been making bigger forays into the world of social networking. I've managed to get myself to do this mainly by not including the social part. My blog has no readers, as I proudly remind you all every now and then. My google+ account, which I recently started using, has only one person in my circles, because I happened to spot Avatar from here in the suggestions and added him. I've not tried to seek anyone out to add.
But now, for some reason I can't fathom, I suddenly went and created a twitter account. I have no idea what I'll do with it.

Funny tummy this morning. Must be the roast beef dinner - not quite frozen, but it was well done.
My mobile phone is just that - no camera, no internet, just a phone. It usually sits in my handbag in need of charging. Must get it charged up.

Our road is very busy, constant traffic all day, including heavy lorries, and busy at night too, but 5 mins away is a nature reserve. Just taken Sammy for his walk there.
Not much wildlife about this morning, one squirrel, a robin and a few other birds, then I saw some geese with babies.
Just after we saw the geese down came the rain, and hail. By the time we got home we were soaked. Still, I feel much better for the excercise and fresh air.

I keep swinging somewhere back and forth between "kill me now" and "it is well with my soul".
Still waiting to hear when/if my plane ticket will be purchased so I can be at the burial on Friday.
Plus, yesterday I read an article very intelligently written by a Nigerian that encapsulated everything I have been thinking about the country for the past year-- that (in his words) Nigeria is "de-civilizing". He also said the regime is doomed, seeing as it is doing the exact same things the past three regimes have done and they collapsed.
But, this is where the love of my life wishes to be, and I had to ask myself, is that enough for me? and yes, it is.
EDIT: After cupcakes and dancing with a bunch of 6-year-olds, and hugging them individually and telling them I love them and will miss them, I feel so much better.
Also it seems like I might get a ticket after all-- on the original flight I wanted. Still hoping!

Haven't spoken to anyone except the dog all day - not since I said good morning to a jogger on the walk this morning.
And, I put my pie in the oven at 4.30, went downstairs at 4.45 to put the chips in and found I hadn't turned the oven on!!!! 5 o'clock already and I have to go out at a quarter to 6

I'm about to head to the dentist to get fitted for my night guard and then it's a lovely afternoon of laundry.

After a beautiful Sunday yesterday, weather-wise, I woke up to rain this morning. And it's supposed to rain tomorrow, too. Happy freaking Monday.
However, I'm doing a blog tour this week for the latest book. The first blogger reviewed the book (instead of asking me to write a guest post) and she liked it. So that made the day better.

Just got back from the dentist. Had a bit of excitement getting out of the car at my appointment. I slid over the seat a bit and you guessed it...RRRRIIIIIPPPPP! The whole back of my jeans ripped apart. I'm sitting there going, "Crap, I can't go in there with my entire right butt cheek hanging out. Then I look over into the backseat and realize that Chris left his hoodie in the car and on me it's like wearing a dress. I was able to cover and go. I'm a little sad though since the jeans were one of my two most favorite pairs which in essence is how the cloth got so thin in the first place.

I hate it when that happens, Jenn. You get a pair of jeans broken in just right, and -- thar she blows!
Iolanthe, I forgot to say earlier that your nature reserve looks like a very peaceful place.

That sounds awesome, but I can't afford to go anywhere even if I do ever manage to get time off. A week of being a hermit sounds pretty good right now though.

Doing well huh?
As for a couple posts back...that's what you get for frozen dinners. (Frozen Yorkshire puddings? That's just wrong. For shame. And frozen roast potatoes?)

I wouldn't normally have one, but I was on my own, had been out since mid-day and it seemed easier than "proper" cooking for one. C should be home by mid-afternoon and then we can get back to normal.

Yes, it is good to escape to. Used to be gravel pits when we first moved here 30 years ago, but the pits are now lakes, and it is managed as a wild life reserve.

I'm kinda exhausted. Think it all just caught up to me on the last day. Either that or I'm coming down with something.

Hubby's home.

Yay for homecomings!
As for Twitter, I'm on the blasted thing too, altho I put off going there because my feed is mostly other indie authors shouting at me to buy their books.

Would love some kind-of-sane postings from people I actually know -- feel free to follow me. @lynnecantwell
