well, the "encoder of messages" bit is a more long-term thing... not so much to do with this particular thread. I've had it as my "title" before.
and Effy, that game you started based on that Sherlock Holmes message was one thing that'd jogged my memory about that.

I could put up my real name, e-mail address, personal phone number, home address, Social Security number, and bank account information without fear of anyone being able to figure it out.

possibly, possibly, but the first thing I think when you say that is "why would you want to" (nah, I know these things can be of intellectual interest) ...but codes are usually used to send and receive messages.
