I have a twitter feed but I almost never tweet. It is good though for finding out about breaking news.

I don't ever intend to learn how to twitter. EVER.
I had a long and trying day today. On the good side I did take another bite out of crime by stopping another shoplifter. The video feed is the best part of the whole thing though. You see the guy come in and he's already shady looking but add to that the fact that he's carrying a huge empty feminine looking tote bag which is conveniently open under his arm and it's a dead giveaway. You see him walk down the writing tools aisle and you see my head peeking around the corner of the aisle watching him. Then he shows up in the laptop aisle and you see me casually standing at the end of aisle sideways. He turns his back to me and so I step all the way out and am blatantly staring at him. He doesn't notice me so he takes a headset off the wall and puts it in his bag. I disappear for about five seconds then I am back blatantly watching him and you see Kin's head poke around the end of the aisle just above mmy head (Kin's really tall) and then the guy turns around, sees us starting at him, he's visibly startled and simply turns his back on us, takes the merchandise out and puts it on the shelf and just walks straight out of the store. It was actually pretty hilarious. I wish I could show it to you guys. Priceless.

Good one, Jenn.
Yeah, Av, it's spring here. May is always an insane month if you've got kids in school -- the end-of-year concerts/awards nights/etc. eat up nearly every night.

I'm going mad working on a rush project. But, it's a holiday tomorrow and friday is off, too. Too bad I have to work on this anyway! I haven't eaten all day and really crave sushi now! Unfortunately, I have to cook- pork loin braised and fulgrainrice with herbs and veggies. I'm sure it will be yummy, but ....sushi!

Save out some of that rice you're cooking and wrap some seaweed around it, Ananda. Problem solved.

Got home yesterday. Taking an extra day off work because I didn't sleep at all on the overnight plane.

Glad you're home safe, Murrin. Did you end up having a good time?

Still no suitcase. Had to go buy clothes today. However, I am going to start missing my meds in a couple of days. Nothing I can't live without but definitely much healthier with. And since some Person within my organization seems to have lost my credit card, I'm quickly running out of money. I have jet lag and need sleep but I'm waiting for the phone to ring and have a headache. Funeral tomorrow.
...sigh...

Hugs from me too. I am exhausted. The students ran me ragged today. I think they have run my color printer ragged too. It has been really slow to respond to print commands and then tonight it kept stopping in the middle of orders and printing odd error messages. I rebooted it and it stopped doing the error thing but it was still incredibly sluggish. I just have to make it through tomorrow and finals are OVER for a few more months until the next semester end rolls around. We've also got a convention going on but they haven't been inundating us like some conventions do. We did have a couple of nice 100 to 300 dollar orders out of it today though.
We also got hit by snatchy again. He got the nook tablet demo this time so yes, he's three for three on snatching demo dummies. Kin and I had a good discussion about it because Kin has been lurking by the door almost nonstop for days and snatchy came in the moment Kin rounded the corner into the laptop aisle freeing up the nook for the taking. I think I figured out snatchy's vantage point for the door. We shall see if he returns. I would think that snatching three demos that won't do anything but the demo program would be a bit discouraging.

Very nervous
Hubby's turn to be home alone as I go half an hour southwards to be nearer tomorrow's destination - Coalbrookdale, Shropshire, where the industrial revoultion began in the 1750s. I have to give a talk to 75 (capacity audience!) knowledgeable people.
Back Sunday. Wish me luck

deer- argh... no suitcase and.. loss of credit card... ick.
Jenn- wait, students? meaning trainees at work, or you're teaching a class somewhere, or what?
Also, I enjoyed this story..
Iolanthe- what are you giving a talk about?
I have had a week that was awesome for work... so many hours, enjoying the tutoring, decent scheduling so I have one student after another at the same library, etc.
Finals coming up, so it'll get even busier.
Today I get a break though, and decided to do some math with my almost-kindergartener.

It's very boring, Linna. The title is "Population Movement - Settlement and Removal". The Seminar is about the Industrial Revolution and I've been put in at the end of the day (the graveyard session) to talk about how movement was controlled under the old Poor Law system (1601-1834) and also a bit post 1834. I just hope that I know a bit more about it than they do.
Better get my case packed and be off - seems strange taking a talk on a data stick. What happens if the lap-top stops working, or the projector, or the pointer thingy - it'll be just my luck.
Hey, I'm supposed to be optimistic. I will knock the socks off them

You will indeed knock their socks off, Iolanthe!
I'm at a Panera near the home of Batty and Shara_Lunison. Magickmaker and I are here for the weekend, as Shara_Lunison is getting her MFA during commencement on Sunday. The girls (young women, really, but they're still "the girls" to me!) are off having fun tonight with their former college pals, as Shara_Lunison earned her MFA at the same college where all three of them got their undergrad degrees. They left me to my own devices, so I came here for dinner. Will be going back to the apartment shortly...
