Having just ordered 'The Wise Man's Fear' I'm re-reading Patrick Rothfuss's 'The Name of The Wind'.

Can't put it down which is really annoying cos I've got so much RL stuff to do.

Which is why I'm on KW now

How about the days when I used to get through a volume of Wheel of Time in two days or less? ;)
My best ever was The Shadow Rising in a single day. :D No sleep though.

Edit( Hey Stone I just realized thats the books you ar re-reading. What is your impression. Im guessing really good since you cant put them down.

The Name of the Wind: The Kingkiller Chronicle: Day One
(Patrick Rothfuss)

So far I like it.

Kvothe ("pronounced nearly the same as 'Quothe' "), the hero and villain of a thousand tales who's presumed dead, lives as the simple proprietor of the Waystone Inn under an assumed name. Prompted by a biographer called Chronicler who realizes his true identity, Kvothe starts to tell his life story. From his upbringing as an actor in his family's traveling troupe of magicians, jugglers and jesters, the Edema Ruh, to feral child on the streets of the vast port city of Tarbean, then his education at "the University," Kvothe is driven by twin imperatives—his desire to learn the higher magic of naming and his need to discover as much as possible about the Chandrian, the demons of legend who murdered his family.

I liked it first time, love it second time.

Can't wait for The Wise Man's Fear to arrive! Hopefully it'll be waiting for me at work tomorrow.

Not sure I can stop my Malazan reread just yet to reread NotW, which I'd be wise to do before reading WMF.

Re-reading A Clash of Kings. It's thicker than the first one, and has a much smaller font.

(If you're wondering if that's my review of the novel: let's say yes.)

^ I've read the first two, and loved them, and then the 5th (or so) and was a little disappointed. Would read them all if I can find them though.

Neverness :D An appropriate title for the book I've been meaning to get round to for 6 months.

Been so busy recently that I've not been able to read more than two or three chapters of any book. Stumbled across Trader's World, by Charles Sheffield, in the bric-a-brac room the other day. Gave up on it. Then today I stumbled across King Kobold, by Christopher Stasheff. Both have thier front cover picture as a feature of the first chapter.

|-T I so dig those seventies sci-fi paperbacks 8)

I'm reading The Anubis Gates by Tim Powers. Supposed to be one of the first so-called Steampunk novels, but I'm not really getting that yet. Just a nice time-travel fantasy, and a page-turner, which is always nice.

On to Mieville's Embassytown now. Started it on the bus this morning.

So on the planes to / from Albuquerque I got about halfway through The Eye of the World, but I honestly haven't picked it up since. It's something that I probably would have loved as a teenager, but there's honestly too much adolescent power fantasy in it.

That's one of the reasons I love the Chrons... there's none of that Dragonball style He's too strong? Then punch him harder! stuff. It's also one of the reasons I don't read much fantasy anymore.

Of course, today I started reading Gardens of the Moon, and I'm thoroughly intrigued. We'll see how this plays out...

I love how much I get into this series...I know what's going to happen and I'm still totally caught up in it.
