Well, there is a Watcher named Edge who has made many of the avatars, which he called "Edgetars." But he's been MIA for awhile. You are welcome to request in his thread in General Discussion, the one called
Edgetars...get yer fresh edgetars. But you are probably better off sending him a private message (PM).
Otherwise, find a graphic you like. The limitations are 150W x 200H pixels, with a file size maximum of 165 KB. Then go into your profile (link in the toolbar), and scroll all the way to the bottom. The ability to link to graphics not on your computer has been disabled for avatars, although you can still insert such images into posts themselves. But you can then upload the graphic on your machine to be your avatar.
cbarkley wrote:Also, I need suggestions on which forums are particularly interesting. thanks everyone.
heh, you're opening a glorious can of worms here.
Especially with yours truly being known for forum hawking, or whatever the phrase is that Damelon uses.
If for now your interest is strictly SRD, I'll let others advise you.
But the Watch is full of forums about almost anything and everything.
Being mod of both the JK Rowling and The Galley sub-forums, of course I will hawk them. But The Loresraat is for science talk, The Close is for Philosophical and Religious discusiion, The 'tank is for political debate (mostly)...truly. Look around. You'll find everything covered here.
I look forward to seeing you in other areas.
Again, welcome and make yourself at home.
...and what Luci said as well!

Thanks! I'm kinda partial to blueberries myself.
As for where to go -- what everybody else said.

But since Menolly's putting in plugs for *her* forums (ahem), I'll suggest that you stop by General Discussion at some point.

Actually it was my Tolkien professor at UCR who recommended Donaldson to me. Who first suggested that you read the books?
Actually, I stumbled on them when I was in middle school, and I find that they have really stood the test of time.
As for my comment, I wondered because I asked SRD last year what he thought about that assertion. I'd love to see what you have to say in the
Fantasy and Science Fiction as Literature thread.

Be Welcome to the Watch, brother52 (may I just refer to you as brother?)
Be Well Come and True.
We have at least one, possibly more, Scot Watchers. I look forward to reading your input.
