The yarn store from which I ordered the second skein of yarn is also out of it. I was pretty sure that was going to be the case, but hey, hope springs eternal. They'll have some back in stock in 4 to 6 weeks. The dye lot will be different so I'll have to be creative about working it in. Maybe I'll finish the wedge I'm working on and set the project aside 'til the new skein comes in....

Other than that, I spent about 5 hours today putting the finishing touches on another knitting project. A big chunk of that time was spent hand-stitching bias tape around the armholes of the tank top I wore to Shara_Lunison's graduation, so I can wear the bloody thing to work without my bra showing. And that's pretty much killed the day. :(

I figured out why I'm so ready for a vacation -- I usually take a week or two off in late May/early June, but this year all my trips are scheduled for the fall. So my brain and body are ready for a break but my reason says, "No no no, you must keep working for four more months." I believe I'll need another loooong weekend here directly....

The weather...or just you?
;)

[broken record]
Either way, get out of there and to somewhere more conducive to both comfort and peace-of-mind!

Well just when I was about to give up and play Diablo III for life, the girl I had coffee e-mailed me and said she enjoyed it/had fun.

Time to ask her out for dinner but will give it some time methinks. I will keep the status on this drama updated, though not too much for fear of jinxing it.

Work was painfully slow and I came up with a killer game that unfortunately due to the fact that I was the person responsible for the store I had to stop myself from letting us play it. Everybody seriously wanted to do it though and I really really really wish we could have. I'll blog about it.

Sorus -- thank you! :D What I'm looking for is Madelinetosh Tosh Sock, and the color is rhubarb. Big chain stores like Michaels don't carry it, so don't bother looking there.

 Me too! No, this is 100% cotton yarn. I wore it for the commencement ceremony last weekend and discovered that the armholes stretched downward as the day went on. As long as I didn't move my arms, all was well. 8O

Also -- we haz teh muggy here too. Ick. Maybe a break tomorrow, they're saying.

And -- I picked up Magickmaker at Dulles last night. Her flight didn't land 'til just after midnight. Drove her home, then drove myself home. Didn't get to bed 'til 1:30am. This is gonna be an interesting day....

Ok, then, I'll take one. 8) Did you put up pics?

Took helldog for a walk this morning. Big mistake. Got about one mile into the forest and we BOTH had enough. She really suffers with that siberian coat. So we cut if short and crawled back to the car. The temp by then was 92 at 9am. Since when do we get 92 in may, or 70 in December for that matter. The world is coming to an end.

Send me the yarn and... ;) Haven't taken a pic of the ensemble yet, but I'll get to it this week. The tank top sorta goes with the short-sleeve cardigan. (The cardigan yarn is 40% hemp, 40% cotton, 20% something called modal -- not sure if that's a natural fiber or a man-made one. But anyway, NO WOOL.)

There are some pictures of (somebody else's version of) the tank top here:
www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/broken-rib-tank
You'll have to wait for any pictures of the cardigan -- I cobbled it together from this pattern and another one.

Getting a bit impatient, I thought at least one or two of the CDs would have arrived by now so I'd have some new stuff to listen to. Maybe tomorrow...

In other news, I may be developing a twitter addiction.

I still don't really feel like I've got the hang of Twitter. Maybe it's because almost everybody I'm following is indie-publishing-related, and most of them are tweeting about how great their books are. I need to fine-tune my lists in HootSuite so that I've got one that's not "work-related", and stop going directly to Twitter entirely....

Got one particular person/celebrity I started following who tweets constantly, so there's always stuff to catch up on. I'm not much into tweeting myself yet. Part of that because it doesn't quite feel worth it when there are only a few people who'll see it, and some of those obviousl only added me to promote their own feeds. :P

I'm constantly checking my feed for tweets, now. On the plus side, it kind of feels like it's totally transformed how I use my phone - really feels like a true smartphone now, when I'm checking twitter, and pulling up videos and pics and web pages from there.

I saw someone with over 9,000 in their "following" list. I guess they must just use lists for the ones they're interested in and ignore the rest, so it seems kinda pointless following them in the first place. (I suspect they maybe follow back everyone who follows them, since the numbers on both were similar.)

I'm chuffed. It's been a hard slog over the last few days but I've got two of the new CDs for publication in August to our supplier already, and the artwork back for one of them. I intend to get the 3rd one done tomorrow if possible. That means we shall be able to have them on sale at the AGM on the 16th June and at the big Family History fair at York at the end of June.

This now leaves me clear to do other things until well into August. No doubt something will turn up to put a spanner in the works.

There appear to be 4 stores in SF that carry the brand, at least one of which definitely does not have that color. One of the maybes is right near me, and I will check them out on my way home from work tomorrow.

Seriously. This thread is pretty much Twitter and actually predates Twitter so I need to get some royalties here.
