Good one!

Excellent!! That's as good as the mortgage one in Aesir.
Much better than that "Big Lie" crap, btw.

As I just told Menolly this morning, I'm a god. I'll decide what's fair.

I'm 603 different gods. I will decide. You will toe the line.

Well, at least one item I don't have to keep you guys waiting in suspense for. I have determined that Nyx has won the contest. The other entries were good, but I was looking for something solid, unambiguous. Nyx presented a history that was historically satisfying without claiming to exactly know everything.
My only qualm is that it fell slightly into the trap of trying to explain how gods get more powerful. The idea that mortals create gods makes sense to us, both as players and readers of mythology. However, it is not culturally sufficient. I don't think there has been a cult in history that has not believed, on some level, that 'my god can beat up your god.'
But still, great work everyone. As the winner, Nyx's version is considered the 'official' version (which really means it's just the most well known). This does not make any other player's entry less valid, nor any future versions unusable. I'll think of an appropriate reward for Nyx while I finish turn results.

I make no apologies. I was rushed, V had already done the Illiad version, and anyway... there's no shame in being derivative of Gaiman's "Sandman".
