Hi - I am new and inspired by my delightful but unexpected discovery of SD's new TC book. Two days to read and it just blows the work of aspirants to pieces. Thank you to the author who, along with Tolkien, introduced me to fantasy over twenty years ago!

for your kind welcomes!
I do not understand though how I went to bed with 9 white gold dollars and awoke with 2509!! I need to sleep more LOL.
Can you tell me please what is de rigeur when using the names of others to address them. Is it correct to shorten them or do you use them in full each time.
just curious

Greetings to you, Forest Dreamer! Welcome to our fabulous little community.
There is at least one member I know of who doesn't appreciate having his name shortened, but I think most people here are easygoing about that sort of thing.

You can go right ahead and call Darth Revan "Darthy" "Darthina" or even "Darthette"
You can call me Fairy, TLF or Claire, or whatever is handy at the moment.

Hail likewise Metal-Demon! I love a lot of metal music, but particularly Savatage and their track "the Hall of the Mountain King" with metal band and orchestra - it **sounds** like the trolls and wild magic beneath the mountain!

PS never been to Saskatchewan but LOVE Vancouver!
And thanks Claire, TLF etc

Hail and welcome, seven reds, seven blacks.
Yes, this is the official forum (it's linked to from the SRD site). But the watch has been around since before there was an SRD site

Hey Forest Dreamer ... where in Western Australia do you live (if you don't mind me asking)? My girlfriend is moving to Brisbane the next week to work as a Cytology Tech at a lab in the West End! Speaking of my girlfriend ... it just so happens that SAVATAGE is one of our favourite bands ever, and they are responsible for her and I meeting! It's a long story ... but suffice to say, their music is definitely very important to each of us!

I just *knew* a nice class of people hung out here *G*
I live in Perth on the south west coast of Australia facing South Africa. We have a great Mediterranean climate, warm to hot dry summers and great white sandy beaches. I guess, apart from supposedly being the most isolated State capital in the world (nearest other is Adelaide which is a few thousand kilometres to the East over the Nullarbor Plain)
We have a laid back outdoor lifestyle most of the year round often having clear blue skies mid winter and mminimums no lower than about 32F. We have the largest landmass for a state, a population of only 2million and spectacular gorges and vast ranches called "stations" of over a million acres in the North.
We have the largest percentage of entrepreneurs and scientific discoveries per capita in the whole country.
I guess we are just the best kept secret in the world *very wyde grynne*
Your girlfriend should definitely see the West while she is here

Hi everyone.
Kevins Watch is certainly an unexpected find for me today!
I've been a devoted fan for over 20 years now.
I met SRD at a book signing a few years ago
When it was my turn to have my book signed, I gushed like a
'little school girl'
"I'm your BIGGEST fan!!!"
SRD looked me up... and he looked me down...and said
"NO. I don't think you are."
THAT was when the carpet refused to swallow me....
(so embarrassing...but funny!)
I'm half way through The Wounded Land for the ump-teenth time. I want my vision fresh before I pick up Runes of The Earth.
I'm looking forward to sharing observations and gaining new perspective from all of you!
