I'm feeling out of sorts. Slept late, so got enough sleep, but still feeling tired. Maybe I'll feel better in a bit.

Feeling a little annoyed. I've been watching Veronica Mars lately, and today I accidentally read the name of the person behind the big crime in season 2 while browsing TV tropes. Arg. Ruined the mystery, now I'm going to be watching for it.

And I got me, too!

Doctor appointment this morning, so I'm going in to work late. My desk looks like it exploded this week -- the bills are arriving in dribs and drabs, as some clients have early deadlines for the end of their fiscal year. Bills, bleah. :P

Sleepy. I went to bed early as I have been going to sleep late each night this week. Well, a loud storm woke Desmond up, and he got into bed with us. Then the tornado sirens went off, and we had to be downstairs with both kids for about 30 minutes and then to try to get everybody back to sleep. So much for enough sleep.

Went to see my Dad and sister, my Dad is getting forgetful, my sister was at work so I took my teenage niece out for ice cream and got information about the family I wasn't really happy about. :( Wishing I could take my beautiful little niece away from it all....

But....

My day just got better cause I found this.

I just wanted to share (and am not trying to make anyone feel bad *cough*LORIN*cough*) that as of this morning, my parenting score has reached 100%.

Percentage of kids graduated from high school: 100%
Percentage of kids with a bachelor's degree: 100%
Percentage of kids with a driver's license: 100%*
Number of kids who have saddled me with a baby in the process of achieving the above: 0

*Batty FINALLY got hers today. Kudos to her father, who housed and fed her for most of the past two weeks, let her drive his car, and took her to the DMV to get her license. (Of course, he has an ulterior motive -- he wants Batty and her girlfriend to take over the payments on his Prius so he can get a new one -- but I'll take my victories where I can get 'em. :) )

Congratulations, Ali. I can't aspire to any but the last - unless you count my (then) 30 year old son ringing me up from a pub to tell me I was going to be a grandmother when I had hardly met the mother of my first grandchild. But what the heck, both of mine seem happy, one drives the other cycles (but his wife drives when they have a car which they haven't at the moment), one has a good job the other has just started on self employment. Kids, eh?

Happy is a big deal when it comes to raising kids, Iolanthe. You must have done something right. :)

My daughters were still in grade school when their dad and I divorced. So my victory lap is partly in reaction to the people who shook their heads and said I was going to fail at raising them, that they'd turn out to be pregnant high-school dropouts.

(You'll note I didn't say anything about them having fulfilling careers. But they've got time...)

A bit sad. My daughter and son were both in ROTC in highschool and my wife and I ran the boosters for a couple of years so we got to know the kids pretty well and one of them we called Random Brandon because he would just stop by our house randomly to let us know how he was doing. He joined the army last year and after basic came by to let us know he was heading to Ft Benning for airborne school and then no telling. He married May 25. Just a couple of days ago, June 7, he was killed in action in Afghanistan.

Sarge -- hang in there! Hope all goes well. 8)

Spent the day hanging out with Batty. We went shopping, then saw "The Avengers" with Magickmaker and had dinner together afterward. 8)
