I had to call her and tell her that I would be in late tomorrow...

She said I'd better have a doctor's note.

I have an interview, which I did not want to tell her... but I did, because I don't lie, and reminded her that she did tell me I could have time off to interview...

She made a nasty comment and hung up on me... but since she didn't call back a few minutes later and yell at me again I think she took it well.

Thing is, even after she told me that - after I told her I was trying to leave - she doesn't expect me to.

Because I put up with her for three years at Borders - and got along with her most of the time... even during that period where supervisors were lasting an average of six weeks... but it was different there... wasn't sharing an 8X11 office with her...

I can handle a LOT of stress... when I was doing security I got death threats on a regular basis... never let it get to me... but I'm done... not willing to be treated this way any more.

well, the waking day is almost at an end but what a nightmare; I woke up with a sense and knowing, that today would be ,,a waste. I just knew. Before i got out of the parking lot, calls where coming in from customers..Before I got to my home on the praire dog plateau, pestering inquisitors where at their best..My whole morning already decided by every body but me. Then I got to my desk,,and beauty,,beauty in the waste..beauty in the foreknowledge of my senses...my computer would not hook up to the rest of the work place..An hour later, a technition carted it off,, back to his shop..beauty. ..a beautiful nightmare. Then I went to a meeting..and was informed I could go back two years,,and charge the company for " OverTime"...not previously claimed due to not reaching threshold. There may have been some " legal" issues with the Threshold.. This nightmare just got better and better. We were asked not to be accurate,, but rather,, be fair and honest...like the company I work for...he,,,,heeeee.....HEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

I've got an interview tomorrow... wish me luck. :cross:

If it doesn't work out.. I would certainly be willing to try Office Depot. Which one is hiring?

My friend Gary runs the store in the plaza on 16th and Bryant. He's always looking for good people. He's actually a district manager so goes between a couple stores. I'll talk to him for you if the interview doesn't pan out. Hope it pans out though.

Good luck in finding a new job - I'm pissed off with work, but not enough to leave, cos the pay is pretty good, and so is the pension at the end of it all. (If only they could get rid of those pesky prisoners  )

Everything else in the world is rosy though - my new golf clubs were delivered today - hooray!!! Can't get a game until Thursday though, and I'll be hungover on Thursday cos I'm going to see Scotland vs Northern Ireland tomorrow night and heading out for a few (many) guinesses afterwards.

Thanks, all! |G

I'm really lousy at interviews... doesn't help that I am also seriously out of practice. Always end up replaying it in my head afterwards and thinking of all the things I should have said. I read books on how to interview, then ignore all the advice because I want to be hired for who I am. Probably not the best way to go about it. :?

And my boss changed my schedule so I miss my train coming home, which only runs once an hour. Mature, eh?

Just be natural in the interview. Its best to let them know who you are upfront. A little advice though. You have a nice laugh, Sorus, let them hear that if the occasion arises. :)

Aww... thanks. That is good advice. I have basically been forced to lose my sense of humor at work as my boss has no sense of humor and doesn't appreciate it in others. I was just thinking the other day that in the four years I have known her, I have never seen her laugh.. sad, really.

I would be forever in your debt! 8O

Probably a pretty cool place to work - but then, I am a bit of a geek.

:shifty:

That's likely a known fact about me by now.

Umm...hello? Need I remind you we are on a Stephen R. Donaldson fansite. Fantasy author...fansite...on the internet. Need I continue? We're all geeks. Not one of us is cool. Not a one.

I spent over seven hours today helping freshmen move into the dorms, and I am tired. I'm so glad I'm not an orientation leader, because then I'd be spending about twice that long every day for the rest of the week trying to get them comfortable with the campus. Instead, I get to spend maybe two more hours here tomorrow, and get all the rest of the time to myself to relax, hang out, whatever.

Hey gang!! y'all miss me??

well, I've been pretty busy since I last breezed in here...mainly with a lot of singing! I did a concert a few weeks ago, doing my first on-stage solo (well, it was a duet actually but yeah - I was OUT THERE!) and now we're in rehearsal to sing with none other than Andrea Bocelli for his only concert in Perth on 30 August!

La la laaaaaaaaaaaaaa....!!!

Yay, an Elfy sighting! :)

So...didya miss me? I drove Magickmaker back to school on Saturday, then took a few days of R&R in southern West Virginia. Oh baby, it was nice. I hiked every day, read two books, sat on the balcony and watched the deer eat windfall apples at the playground.... Ahhhh.

Now I'm back. Bah.

Best of luck on the job search, Sorus! Congrats on the promotion, Sarge! Good luck getting some rest, Auleliel....
