Well, my day continued to go well, and as there is only half an hour left I shall now say that it is night, so my entire day went fabulously. :)
Now I aim to get a good night's sleep before Day 2 (almost 6 hours of class total tomorrow).

Thanks for the welcome back, guys.

I'm settled in a new house now - work has taken some crazy twists & turns, but is looking like it might actually settle into something good & steady in the next couple of months.

Ali: good point. Time for a new edgetar. Off to work on that... :D

I feel very annoyed right now. Guy was walking by with a dog and Moose friggin took it upon himself to leave the friggin office and go out to the street. I screamed Moose and told him bad dog and yelled "Back in the office NOW!" and he went scuttling back in. Ina was waiting in the office for Igor to be ready to go to lunch and she friggin coddles Moose and gives him half a section of the kit kat bar she was snacking on. Totally undermining that he is in trouble AND giving my friggin DOG CHOCOLATE.

I think she made it a point to push my buttons today. I have lost some weight. Yes. I realize this. I can still stand to lose some more weight. It's not hiding itself. I have a belly and some back fat. I have about 35-40 pounds I can stand to shed. Even then I will not even come close to looking like Kiera Knightly or Lara Flynn Boyle. She talked about me in Russian to Igor and then he tells me she says I am "wasting away." THEN she offers me some of the food she brought for Igor's lunch. She always brings enough for five people. I say no thank you. I have a fully loaded mixed green salad with crab and tomatos and half a hardboiled egg and cabbage and carrots and black olives and capers. She starts insisting and I say, "No thank you." Very Clearly. She dishes me a loaded plate and starts shoving it in my face and insisting. I keep saying, "No thank you." This goes on for about five friggin minutes. Then she got a hurt face and I told her. I appreciate it Ina but I really really really have PLENTY of food here already. She can SEE I am no skeleton. I am trying to get back into shape and healthy. Why oh why does she have to try to derail me and try to keep me overweight? Does she think she's doing me favors? GAH! Why do people do that crap?

Maybe a cultural thing, jenn? Most places around the world, bigger is better! I know Irish mums, for one, never take no for an answer when offering food. ( :D My mum used to praise my sister's friends with lines like "You're looking well - have you put on weight?" in complete innocence. Was very funny)

I"ve been overly irritable all afternoon now. I keep a candy dish on the counter for the customers and one of the mackenzie warehouse drivers says, "Can I have a piece of candy?" and I say, "Ok." and so he grabs a huge whopping handful. As much as he can possibly hold in his fist. At least fifteen mini candy bars and walks out the door. What a rude jerk. I am surprised he didn't pull out the front of his shirt and pour the whole dish contents in. Sheesh. :-x

You should have thrown Moose at his crotch and yelled "chocolate fest!"!

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Then a customer shows up and apparently missed my phone call that it's going to be ready tomorrow so since she's elderly I offered her a ride home and asked Igor to call the celica owner and tell him to come pick up and Igor forgot so I get back and the customer hadn't come to pick up the car yet. I then have to call the customer at ten of five to tell him it's ready and now I am stuck here waiting for the customer. GRRRRR.... Thank God I have yacht rock later.... and THEN on my way home some f--kface thinks it's cute to lunge at my chihuahua and act like he's going to grab him when we are in a f--king crosswalk so that Moose is terrified and darts out and runs into the moving section of the intersection and barely missed getting run over by a f--king car. WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE???? I think my heart stopped beating for half a minute. Sorry about all the swearing but I seriously think I felt some more of my hair turn white while my heart was stopped. I mean seriously, what did he think Moose was gonna do? Leap in his arms and lick the face of the big scary monster that was trying to kill him? Dumbass. Oddly, that's the SECOND time someone has tried that shit. I was quick on the draw with the lock button on his leash the first time. Plus Moose was right next to me that time, this time he was barely in my periforal vision.

Geez, Jenn, I'd yell at the prick. That's one of those moments when you let down the "talk nice with strangers" thing and let them have it.

I would have but my focus was all on Moose and by the time I had regained my wits he had done the smart thing and disappeared. Anyway, the day was not a total loss. Had a friggin BLAST at the yacht rock party. Those guys are so nice and funny.

Poor Jenn, what a day! At least Moose is fine, tho -- and you got to have fun at the partay....

Coming, as I do, from a long line of Slavic women for whom food is love  , I'm *sure* it's a cultural thing with Ina. She's not trying to get you fat; she's trying to show you how much she cares about you. You did the right thing, believe me -- jus' keep saying "no thanks". And hey -- kudos on the weight loss!

Congrats on the new job Sorus!

Nice to see you back Edge - look forward to seeing your new Edgetar!

Feeding Moose chocolate?? Silly woman! Pity you can't ban her.

I've had a pretty stressed out day running a childrens party at work. The stress is due mainly to the fact I wasn't meant to be running it at all.
I so need a new job!

Right now I feel pretty tired. I spent the whole day working on getting the house in order -- mopping floors, dusting, vacuuming, filing (yecccchhhh), cooking, doing laundry, etc. Most challenging was trying to find the source of a persistent odor in the kids' bathroom; I finally gave up and went to Wally World for a reed diffuser. Hopefully the scent will cover the nastiness. Tho if I start craving black cherry-flavored foods, I'll have to find a different scent.

Tomorrow is Labor Day in the US -- yay for three-day weekends! A couple of friends are coming over for lunch, so I'll be assembling dips and veggie kabobs early in the day. Then we're going to go poke around in some shops in Old Town Manassas. Should be a good day.

Amused. One of the kids in the street (not the screamer, a slightly older one, maybe ten or eleven) shouted "Hey dude!" at me as I was approaching my house. I gave her a wave and carried on. Then, while unlocking the door, she shouted again, "Dude! You rock!"

I'm quite tired but happy. Work is getting me down but we finally booked our holiday in a couple of weeks. Mexico won out in the last minute stakes!
