I'm pretty overwhelmed at the moment.
Umm...well...I guess the best way to say it is to come out and say it.
I'm officially engaged. On Sunday morning very early, Carla drove me up to the top of Mount Evans and as we were ascending the peak on foot, she wanted to rest. Then she said, "I brought you here because I think we should get married because I am pregnant." I just now realized that it is a good thing that I accepted, as I could have been pushed. So yes, she had tried the pee stick, and it came up with one doodle that couldn't be undid, homeskillet. When we got home, she tried the second one in the pack, and it came up the same. She will be calling the doctor today and trying to make a doctor appointment ASAP. I'm very excited, and I know it is premature to get excited about the possibility of baby, but I can't help it. Regardless, even if something does happen and I won't be a daddy, I still am perfectly willing to be a husband. We had been discussing it lately anyway, but this lights the fire under our asses a bit.

Congrats Cag!!! I had a shotgun wedding at 6 1/2 months preggers. The two happiest days of my life: getting married and giving birth to my son. Best of luck to all of you!
I've been busy. My family and friends in Louisiana are ok. Gustav was no Katrina, thank god.

Thanks folks, I really appreciate it.
I'm very excited, except that I am dog tired today. Haven't been getting much sleep lately, which actually started before I knew. I keep waking up every hour and have a hard time going back to bed. The past few days, it's been fine because I can just go back to bed whenever I am actually tired again. But I'm at work today, so I can't. Bluh.

I feel tired and not really in the mood to work but oh well, got no choice. Looks to be another scorcher day in SF. The ancient radiator in my apartment doesn't fully shut off and it was way too hot last night so I slept like crap. Ugh. Whine whine whine....

There there, Jenn....
Did I mention that our move (at work) has been put off a week? Not moving 'til next Saturday (which, co-inka-dinkally, would be my 23rd wedding anniversary if I were still married

).

The minor heat wave we had the last couple of days broke this morning. It's nice outside now.
We had a brown out/black out for about an hour last night. The power went out and came right back up, but only at about 30% of full strength. The only thing that worked during this time was the clock radio. Then it went down for 45 minutes before being restored.

Big news. Nice proposal, too. My compliments to Carla.

I seem to have a knack of acquiring those...
In my own news, the Gwynedd area has had another outbreak of
cryptosporidium, which means we're all on bottled/boiled water for the next few months. The last time this happened, a couple of years ago (when, fortunately, I wasn't actually living here), it was caused by sewage leaking into a reservoir. I imagine the cause is similar this time.

A knack for acquiring underage female admirers or admirers who are also screamers?

Congratulations, Cagliostro and Carla!
I feel chilly. It rained all day yesterday, and all day today. I want to go curl up under a blanket and get cozy, but I have to go to one more appointment today.
In other news, I think I am confused about romance. I was giving a male friend some advice about women, and even as I was giving him advice I was thinking about how I don't even follow it myself. Anyhow, I decided that I am ready to date again---if only I had the time and opportunity!
Anyhow, it's good to be back here.
