Hello everybody.
I'm a fan of the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, and also of the First and Second Chronicles of Linden Avery the Chosen. Technically those aren't the titles, but you have to admit that's what they're really about anyway.
I read Mordant's need, and thought it was cool. Also Read Into the Gap, but by the time I finished I was so thoroughly disgusted by the abuse that I couldn't bear to read another book of that series.
In other news, I have read Tolkien's 5 major books but very litlle other fantasy. Currently reading Don Quixote and quite recommend it.

Greetings!
Allow me to introduce myself. I am a fan of SRD. Obviously! I'm here, right?
I haven't started the Final Chronicles yet. Why? Because after reading the First and Second Chronicles and waiting (and waiting) for the next books, I swore to myself "Never again will I start a series that hasn't been completed!" It's a promise that I have kept. Well... somewhat.
I am re-reading the first two Chronicles and am currently in the middle of "The One Tree". I'm enjoying them almost as much as I enjoyed first reading them!
Reading them again has given me some insight into what I so much enjoyed about them. That being the complex and often uncomfortable situations and emotions;
and SRD's ability to so effectively create powerful imagery in his writing that matches the overwhelming images of the land that must have assailed the senses of Covenant and Avery on their first and subsequent visits.
I also enjoy these authors:
Greg Bear
Steven Brust
Orson Scott Card
Glenn Cook
Barry Hughart
Neal Stephenson
J.R.R. Tolkien (of course!)
Tad Williams
I would be very interested in hearing from other SRD fans what authors and books you enjoy!
Nice chatting with you all. Peace!

Be Welcome to the Watch, oakleaf.
Be Well Come and True.
Drop in any of the forums, especially
General Fantasy/Sci-Fi and
The Library to discuss other authors. A
lot of fellow Watchers enjoy Erikson's
Malazan series, although that one isn't finished yet either.
Walk softly though; you may come upon a Last Chronicles spoiler here and there in the most unexpected places. The admins and mods do their best, but the occasional spoiler does slip through in spite of their best efforts.
I look forward to seeing you and the other newbies, around the Watch.
*soft smile*

Welcome to the Watch, Percipience. If your name is apt, you'll quickly figure out who here is cool, and who is a nut.
Welcome to the Watch, oakleaf. I don't know what an oak leaf would cover, but if it's bigger than a fig leaf, you probably have what it takes to make it here.

An oak leaf isn't going to cover much other than a couple of acorns I suppose!
Thank goodness for boxers!

I'll capitalize it if I determine that this group is corrupt or corruptible!

I, for one, am very much looking forward to finding out what blandishments Oakleaf will use when attempting to determine whether we are corruptible!

All depends on which Watcher you're dealing with...
