Alex wrote:Hello all! My name is Alex and I'm currently living in Salem OR. I haven't read the books that this forum is dedicated to. I came here because of the Stephen C McKinney Memorial thread that Furls Fire set up. I'm a gay man living with AIDS and that thread speaks volumes to me. It was suggested that I introduce myself here, so...Hi!

I'm glad to be here and I hope to get to know you all.
Greetings, Alex and welcome to KW. Glad that you joined and here's hoping that your health allows you to discuss these great books with us for decades to come!

Welcome to the Watch, Alex. If you find what many of us find in Donaldson's works, I dare say you'll be glad for it.

Alex wrote:Thanks for the welcome! And Tracie has already sent me the first three books. I'm not much of a reader though. But, she's quite persuasive, so I'll give them a shot. I've actually read the first 2 chapters of Lord Foul's Bane. Not exactly easy to read, but I like what I've read so far. I can kind of identify with this Covenant guy already.
Alex
You can also try listening to the full read of Fouls Bane. Scott Brick did the read and it is wonderful. I read them and listen to them when I'm driving (and driving)and get different things from the different approaches.

Scott has a website where you can get the first trilogy a (but not the second YET)

Hey there, Dear Lady. :)

Thanks for the link Lorin. Sounds cool, bit spendy for me though. Unfortunately.

I'm having an intense deja vu moment of the A Fresh Journey to the Tower thread...

*shakes head to clear it*

I always tell people that if they can get past what happened to Lena, and keep going...they won't regret it. This is one of the best stories ever written! :)

Keep reading Alex! :D

Hello everyone. I'm not actually a new member, but it's been so long since i posted, it kind of feels like it. I'm most eager to be back and I look forward to reaquainting myself with this wonderful site. (That is, if you'll have me? I did just sort of cut and run, admittedly)

I can't wait until someone named Kotter comes back after an absence. That will be fun...
