Watched Bender's Big Score last night.
Awesome. Laughed my butt off, especially at the 22-minute episode of Everyone Loves Hypnotoad.

Hypnotoad stole the show.
As for the movie itself: I thought the first few minutes were classic, but the rest focused way too much on drama (Leela's love story) and the time-travel plot. The story wasn't a vehicle for comedy but an action-drama piece that had a few jokes every now and then.
Many jokes were forced or absurd: the appearance of Robot Santa seemed nothing but fan service; Hermes losing his head turned him into a one-joke character; brainwashed Bender was unfunny, and the show's done brainwashing before).
Still, there's three movies to go. Hopefully they'll get back on track and I'll get the feeling I had from the original series.

Got Hot Fuzz for christmas; just watched it. Good film, not sure if it's as good as Shaun of the Dead, though, and it was a little slow to get going. Still, pretty good.

I watched V is for Vendetta last night. I think it should be retitled to 'V is for Very Average'.

Just got Season 7 of
Magnum P.I. Across the board excellent, and it's got the episode that I fell madly in love with Dana Delany.

Ah, nothing like a bit of Bellisario tv in the festive season. On which note, on Christmas morning (or early afternoon) I got:

I just watched Day Watch (the Director's Cut, if that makes any difference--it seems to be the only version they've released here). It's... interesting. Once again, very big budget, greatspecial effects. I think it'll take a second viewing to appreciate, though (and I reallly ought to have rewatched Night Watch first, so I could remember the details).
