I feel lazy. I snuck out of work early and now I am lounging on my bed surfing the net and throwing things across the apartment for Moose to bring back.

Heh, I'm doing basically the same thing. Unfortunately, I don't have a dog, so there's this big pyle of miscellaneous shit lying against the far wall that I'm going to have to clean up........

That's why you have kids, dAN. Tell one of 'em to go fetch the stuff for you. (Sheesh, you'd think he'd've figured that out already...)

kids don't pick up clothing their parents have thrown across the room in a fit of pique(Sheesh! You'd think that they'd've ALL figured that out already....).

My first thought when I read your mom's post was "Doesn't she have that backwards? Isn't it my job to clean up their mess?"

I feel a little lost...my two best friends are having issues--one just got fired for a really bogus reason, and the other is having issues with his wife. Sigh.
She says she loves him but she wants him to change his entire personality and become more of a "Man's Man."
They are both miserable, and I feel bad for them, but don't know what I can do to help besides listen.

It's tough when friends are having difficulties. Sometimes listening can be the best way to help.

Yech. Nothing quite as humiliating as being told to butch up.

Fine. I'll try to stop bitching at you to be more manly, ya big crybaby. Sheesh.
I'm tired. Didn't sleep all that well. Don't really wanna be at work today.

I'm feeling old.
As part of my RA duty, they hand us fliers to put under the doors of our residents. Last night I passed out fliers(with a coupon attached) for a music store in the area. On the fliers, in the corner it said 'trade in your used cds, dvds, and LPs for cash!'
One of my first years asked me what LPs were, and all I could do was laugh.
But I'm feeling happy! because a paycheck I wasn't expecting to get until next month actually came in last week, and I got it today!

we had cable until I was about 9 years old, and then we had no television at all after that. like not even basic channels. I didn't and don't miss it.

. I remember dad buying the first TV ,,a Emerson B&W, and one of us kids havin to stand by the TV set,,every time the only local TV station had technical difficulties. They'd broadcast a hand written sign that said,, Please Stand BY, We are experiencing Technical Difficulties..so dad made one of us kids stand by the set until the show came back. He thought that was pretty darn funny.

On top of having no gas, I'll soon have no electricity. Apparently the token thing for the meter doesn't work anymore. The meter is fine with it, but everywhere I've gone to get more credit has told me it's stopped working in their machines. Grrr. No light, here I come.

What?
It's time to get your landl-rd to find out what the hell is going on, Cj. There is absolutely no reason you should go without power, when you are willing and able to pay for it, outside of storm damage, etc.
