I would never ever tell a truth sayer to shut up. Especially a published truth sayer

The question is whether anything I've published qualifies as truth. I guess it did when I wrote it...
lorin wrote:btw - do you like my new av? I took it in santa fe at the fest. Pretty, huh?
It's beauteous! And now that you say it, I remember it from your pictures from the fest.

Finding this made my day:

wow - 2 days between posts. This thread is slowwwwwwwww.
Funny the silly things that can make your day. Having a pet goat would make my day but I can eat goat. I tried but it made me sad.
As for me, my day was made today when I had my own discovery. There is a back acre to my property that I was going to use to make a megagarden this summer but my back thwarted my plans. So I went back there yesterday to scatter wild flower seeds in the field and the weeds that were all over the back fence turned out not to be weeds, not even the good weeds. They turned out to be GRAPES. Mature vines. I am sooo happy. I love canning but never thought of trying grapes because vines take a long time to mature and yield. But they are already here. Yay!!!
I have a huge crop of basil and will make pesto this weekend. It freezes well. Pesto pasta is really good.
And yesterday I have my first cherry tomatoes in my salad. They were a strange color - purple but tasted great. You know, the more I am home in my garden, the more I know how much I love dealing with growing things.
Another whisper.

deer- because you found boullion at all?
or because of the hilarity of "most of the meat is goat around here... of course there would be goat boullion"?
or because of the pictures on the packaging?

neeeat... they're real cultivated grapes?
(we've got a bazillion wild grapes around here... they're so bitter.)

Yums. Hmmm, you gonna post in the "food from your own garden" thread somewhere around here?

We celebrate with you! I think this is exciting & beautiful.

Ok it's not a good day when I am the most frequent poster on this thread.

Linna, how can you tell if they are cultivated? My landlord said his grandparents planted them 60 years ago but they are not on an arbor or anything. Just growing on all the fences.

Hahah... whatcha sayin'?
It has been slow a bit, though..

Mostly, I would only know how to tell once they're ripened... tiny little spheres for wild grapes vs the larger, sweeter ones we're familiar with.
But "My landlord said his grandparents planted them 60 years ago" is
really good evidence in favor of them being cultivated!
Awesome!!
(I think it's so cool because of the "I wouldn't have had time to get them to mature, but they are already here" factor.
You get to enjoy "
vineyards you did not plant.")

Puzzled and a little annoyed. I posted my review of China MiƩville's Kraken on my blog, and the blog was immediately locked by some automated system on wordpress, with no indication at all of why.
Edit: aaand it's already fixed. Fast customer service.

I think I saw somebody else complain today about their Wordpress blog being locked. I'm guessing it was a system error that affected a bunch of people.

Sounds better Sarge. Elastic stockings certainly help.

Glad the stockings are helping, Sarge. Sorry about your friend.
Having some trouble getting moving this morning. Probably should stop staying up so late. Sigh.

I'm feeling pretty elated today... my hubby went out and got a car... and he got a good deal for us!
Almost the same make, model and year as what we had before... except shiny silver instead of shiny blue.
The bad news is that he needed to do that cause I was in an accident a week and a half ago..
Everybody who was in it is physically fine, but..
...our old car was totalled.
I've been doing a lot of biking and asking tutoring students to meet closer to me.
(But that stuff's mostly good for me, I think!)

Oh right; thank you... that one was worthy of an edit of the original post so anyone who sees it knows right away... that all the people involved are fine.
I'm fine; the other two people in the van that hit me were fine too.
I had this minor neck pain for just about two days.
It was just someone pulling out and getting the whole side of my car, but at a very low speed.

The former chiropractic assistant in me is silently yelling for you to get yourself checked out by a chiropractor anyway. Your auto insurance should cover it.

Glad everybody's okay, Linna, and yay for the new car!

But yeah, I'd see a doc about the neck pain. Just to be on the safe side.
Crazy day. Busy at work (shocking, I know!). Then I put in a big 15 minutes on the elliptical machine in the gym here in the apartment building. About 45 seconds in, my quads started screaming at me, and I was only going about 2.5 mi/hr.

I am *really* out of shape....

They are right. Especially since it was a car accident. You want to establish there may be an injury. A year from now if you start having problems and put in a claim they will deny it unless there is some history of injury.

Good for you for getting started. Try doing 5 minutes of stretch first. That may help.

But then it would take 20 minutes instead of 15... Maybe I'll do the treadmill instead. It's too bloody hot again to walk outside. Supposed to be 100 degrees again today.

I'm *so* ready for fall.

And your point is?

Do both. Maybe 10 min each to start.

Yeah it's terrible here too. Humid and no breeze. I had to cut my morning walk to an hour and I started at 5:30am. Helldog and I were both shot. And she is taking steroids again for her summer skin crazies. Bad year.
