anyone know when the 3rd season DVD is going to be released? i thought the second week in december but i can't find it (thanks to the new $#$@&* block at work, which blocked the lost website as entertainment...oh these IT folks just don't understand lost if they categorize it as entertainment).

Dec. 11, according to Amazon.com. And it can't come quickly enough, dammit.

i checked out wikipedia about how the writers' strike might affect lost. looks like they've written the first 8 episodes and the decision has been made to air these. so at least we will get some lost.

I just remember getting bored of Season 2 the same as I did Season 3 at the start of the season. They had to set things up, though I admit that Season 3 had a harder time keeping interest, and probably the 2nd episode I felt the boredom set in. Season 2 was around the time of the Tailies story, "The Other 48 Days." But I always have faith the show will knock me over, so I just need to keep tuning in, and it will pay off in the end. Set ups are typically boring. But definitely toward the end of the season, things always seem to really get going on this show. I'm just not expecting the first 8 episodes to really bowl me over. The first one, yes. They always start the new season off well.
I'm just excited right now about being able to rewatch season 3, since I've only seen those episodes once, and may have missed bits here and there.

I'm planning on picking it up at lunch today. However, it's a snowy crap-land outside, so either after work or tomorrow when it is supposed to be sunny and actually above freezing. I just hope it gets better by lunchtime.

Okay, I have picked it up and on the day I said I would. Haven't watched but 3 episodes, but played a bit with the extras. There's gotta be a trick to unlocking things. I know those other two screens will eventually be accessable. I just have to figure out how. Or cheat by putting it on the computer.

we've watched about 5 episodes so far. haven't looked at the extras yet, but i am hoping for marathon lost sessions (with christmas shopping in between) this weekend.

The extras disk has a HEAP of easter eggs. Which makes me think there is a trick to it.

cool...though i am horrible at figuring those things out. this is where malik comes in very handy. if i learn anything, i'll share it with you and you can do the same for me.
actually, i take it back that i haven't seen any of the extras...i did see another orientation tape. have you see that one?

Yes, which was very strange and funny. Seems like it was an ad for Season 4, but I couldn't figure out how.

i think it might've been the strangest one yet. i didn't think of it as an ad for 4th season, but now that you mention it, it might've been.

Basically to find the Easter eggs, move the active thingy around on the screen in different directions. If you hit it and the pointer doesn't move, that means the next push in some direction (might not be the same direction) will move you to some other spot on the screen. Then you press enter or maybe play and there it is. If you fail to chose the correct direction it will take you to possibly the next menu item and you can just try again. I've found a heap by doing this.

Concerning LOST.. Looks like the last week of January is first episode,, THURSDAY NITE AT 9 EST.....
Now concerning easter eggs..imho.. the GREATEST EASTER EGG of LOST has to be... " Only Fools are enslaved by Time and Space !" Every one know which episode that is from?,,,and for a bonus,,consider applying that phrase to Last Chronicles...
