I'll stick with OPAL for now.

I'm joining THOOLAH, definitely. And TEMBAC is a nice idea too. Seriously, Linden, eeeewwww. Ew. The only good thing she's done is make a smart stick. OOOO, it's a stick. Yay. That totally justifies her over-large role in the plot, and her incessant whining pages of inferiority complexes and self-inflicted owes. Yay, stick! not.

Welcome to THOOLAH, Sherman Landlearner, but beware, just because you now walk in the Light and Truth of Linden's whineyness, do not think that it will always be thus. One of the original members of THOOLAH fell from grace last year.

We heartily hope that he will recover sense and return to the fold before The Last Dark.

THOOLAH Forever!

Allow me to reaffirm my commitment to THOOLAH.
All Linden Avery is good for is to make me appreciate and miss Covenant whenever the story is focused on her.

BTW as a rule I really like strong central female characters but there has always been something about Linden that has rubbed me the wrong way.

You know what? I really hate being negatively opinionated about anything which ought to say something.

If I knew someone like LA in the course of my real life I probably wouldn't know them very long. Nuff said. :-)

To me, THOOLAH seems to be a sort of faith where good is defined in terms of evil. Thus, even if Linden is a malignant tumor in the chronicles, her presence is necessary for redemption.

Never! LA is evil! EEEEVVVVIIIILLLL! She must be destroyed! Or at least pushed off one of the extremely convenient cliffs she keeps standing near. Seriously, I don't care how she goes, but I want her out! GO!

Thank you for posting that URL, u... that's one of my fave threads on the Watch! ;)

The thread title says it all... "The Mother of All Reversals":
Spoiler
Why would it be surprising if Linden, as a mother, would be forced to seek deep within herself for reserves of strength that she didn't even know were there?
And thus would be seen by more readers to be the amazing woman she was... (or "was destined to become," depending on your POV.)
Seems pretty reasonable to me...
We Linden-Lovers welcome HLT with open arms! (Right?)

I applaud you for your sensitivity to their POV. (I think..)

THOOLAH!
What more can be said that hasn't already been voiced so eloquently already?
I've hated Linden from the first and nothing SRD has written since that time has altered my perception of the character.
Linden is like a pet or a little kid that stands in front of the television obstructing one's view of what is truly sought after. Alas she is all too frequently found in the Chronicles blocking my view of Covenant and resisting all my efforts to shoo her away so that I can enjoy what should be the true focus of the story.

You need only look at my avatar to see a splendid example of what I'm talking about.

Down in front Linden! :-)
THOOLAH - Nuff said.

Anyways, thank you - and what a great picture of Linden!

I Hate Linden Avery. Initially I thought she wasn't so bad you know? every group needs a healer. and then I started getting longer chapters with her annoying selfish complaining. Still, I strove to forgive her because her past "problems" to my dismay I even tried to rationalize her sending the Haruchai away from the elohimfest.. then I realized that she just uses her past as an excuse to not do things... what a bitch. The last straw was when she decided to try and kill Ceer... I was so angry.. I wish Cail kicked her harder... maybe in the face region, you know? Oh and when Brinn punched her in the face! genius.. he was awake the whole time just waiting for the perfect time to punch her in the face.. I knew it. Re-reading these books has made me hate the character known as Linden Avery.

I would be honored to serve as a member of THOOLAH. may I wear the badge and take up service with the brave and enlightened members of this group?
