Isn't
The Mist about a bunch of pirate ghosts who law seige to a small town?
The other two are excellent movies, and high on my want list

No, you're thinking of The Fog.

I just watched the Mist with Montresor. It's a fantastic movie! Well worth watching.
Oh, and the ending is shocking and very ironic.

I haven't watched it yet but my wife surprised me with the Iron Man dvd yesterday. She says it's a late birthday present since we were kind of broke during the first week of September. I got the 2 disc set but no blue ray. In addition to seeing the film once again I'm looking forward to checking out the bonus features.

An assignment for Beorn's
Virtual School Latin I class (his public high school doesn't offer Latin). He has to make note of an historical fact, an inaccurate historical fact, the three main characters, and a brief summary of the plot.
I admit I was skeptical at the thought of him sitting through this.
...it's good to be occasionally proven wrong and to hear him laughing his head off at an old classic...

Just watched The Incredible Hulk (finally). Has anyone else suggested Ed Burns as TC? He's got the chops, and is probably one of the gauntest actors in Hollywood.

Ed Norton you mean? Big fan here. Yeah, he could do it.

I went on a DVD buying frenzy last night to get all these mostly 70's doomsday flicks (and others). I can hardly wait! Lots of fond memories with these movies. And it's not that I have a doomsday dread; I'm actually quite the chipper lad...
Fail Safe (already have Dr. Strangelove, this movie's ... antithesis?)
One the Beach
The Bedford Incident
Capricorn One
Seven Days in May
The Final Countdown
Marooned
Colossus - The Forbin Project
Ice Station Zebra
The Invaders - The First Season
Journey to the Far Side of the Sun
By Dawn's Early Light
Red Dawn
Twilight's Last Gleaming (had to special order that one)
Then a couple Time travel flicks:
Time After Time
Somewhere in Time

Thanks! It will make for a good Holloween weekend; or even perhaps a good election weekend viewing event.
