That video clip might be one of the ones on the official site - Structured Interview section, June 2004 (I think).

I just watched the above-posted clip. Very good clip, but I also found it very disconcerting. I mean, I've known all along that SRD is a mortal, human, thinking person just the rest of us, but to see him in that setting, sipping a drink, and talking in nearly conversational mode -- you can tell he felt put-on-the-spot with the questions -- just gave me a strange feeling, that I find it difficult to further characterize.

i understand DW. gave me a weird feeling too, and i've MET him!! he was NOT this personable at the FBH filming. i personally think he's funnier when he's a bit "tight"!!! which he seemed to be. i don't think that was his first drinkypoo!!!
i felt uncomfortable when he looked and sounded uncomfortable and i REALLY got uncomfortable when he started talking about his mother! urk.

Yeah, there are other clips where he refills his water glass from the table pitcher. It's H2O!

If we run out of questions for the post-dinner interview, maybe we can just get him to tell some anecdotes. He told me one about the Papal Bulls of his first editor, del Rey, that ties into The Princess Bride (the book - particularly the omitted "reunion scene"). And I've heard of others, but can't remember them by name at the moment - can anyone else add to the list? Perhaps we could start a video collection of them. :-)

Lucimay, I disagree about SRD being relaxed during the FBH shoot. He was pretty relaxed with the girls but if you remember he was TRYING to keep a straight face the whole time. Remember when they cracked him up and he was saying that he promised himself he wouldn't lose it and he would NOT SMILE the whole time cuz he was trying to play it as though he was taking the interview seriously.

Have you guys watched all of the E'fest clips? He's very relaxed, and gives some very insightful answers, particularly about Kevin and Elena. Those of us who were part of the Watch then remember some of the huge debates we used to have about those two characters. Ah, the good ol' days!

thats not what i said. i said he wasn't as "personable". meaning he seemed uptight to me at the filming. he DID loosen up once he got in bed and the filming started, (who wouldn't). which i ALSO said when i reported back in the FBH thread, just after filming. but maybe it was ME who made him nervious!!! he wouldn't be the first and he won't be the last. know what i mean bean?

all i was saying about the EF video is that he seemed quite relaxed, moreso than he seemed when i met him. IT WASN'T AN INSULT. I WAS NOT DISSING "THE MAN"!!!

no it didn't. not harsh. i just get EMPHATIC!! i'm an ENTHUSIASTIC person. and i have the tendancy to over explain things cause i have such a HORRIBLE fear of being MISUNDERSTOOD. consequently, it always looks like i'm tap dancing and SHOUTING. hahahahah!!!
