Rewatched Oldboy and Lady Vengeance tonight. That would be my second Oldboy viewing, and my fourth Lady Vengeance. First time I noticed the actors that appeared in both; also realised that one actor who had a bit part in Lady Vengeance had a major role in Sympathy for Mr Vengeance and was also the major character in The Host, another great Korean film I saw recently.
Need to find more of these films--they're some of the best I've ever seen.

No, I haven't seen that one. What's it like?

Ratatouille was even better than the first viewing. The computer-generated Paris is more stunning than the real city.

Just watched The City of Violence, another recent Korean flick. Funny how the same actors keep cropping up in all of these things. The subtitles weren't that good (I suspect this copy was ripped from a bootleg), but not bad enough to spoil the film.
A good film, overall. The fight sequences towards the end were great.

Currently watching Run Lola Run on Film 4.

I'd forgotten how good it is! Wonderful wonderful imagery and a unique (imo) plot.

The Rocky Horror Picture Show is on TV.

Have you seen Memories of Murder, by the same director as The Host? That also features cast from Sympathy and The Host. It's an excellent film, quite surprising.

I noticed in a recent South Korean war film called Brotherhood of War (a fantastic film), the main character from Old Boy appears in a five minute part as a North Korean captain. Was odd and, I suspect, either a cameo, or a role he had before becoming a leading man actor.

Watched The Iron Giant. It's too bad the movie didn't do better at the box office. It has some amazing animation.

Had a great film night on Saturday with an old friend who was visiting.

We watched Beddazzled which was hilarious and V For Vendetta which was cool as ....

Watched Blade Runner the other night. It just gets better the more I watch it.

Equilibrium - Sure it's almost identical to Nineteen Eighty Four, Logan's Run and Fahrenheit 541, but it's an amazing movie. 5 stars.

I'd like to see the Happening, but annoyingly already had it spoiled for me. The reviewer that spoiled it sounds just like me though. I keep wanting to give this guy a shot, but Shamalamadingdong keeps blowing it. The reviewer said that he feels like some trailer park wife that keeps insisting she loves her abusive husband no matter how much he hits her. I think I'm starting to wise up, and will probably give this a miss in the theaters as the reviewer said this was the worst to date of his flicks.

I skipped his last one for exactly that reason.

I'm still hoping for a sequel to Unbreakable.

Mad Max.

I recently decided to invest in cheap DVDs of the trilogy, but they arrived in the wrong order. I'd seen 1 and 2 before (and 2 was worse than I remember, while 1 was better) but 3 was new to me. Did Mad max suddenly become property of Disney? It was hideous. In any case, I can now say with some assurance that the original Mad Max is my favourite of the three. I like the relative seriousness of it.

Completely agree. That's my favorite of his films, and I'll still stand up and support this one. And strangely enough, it's the only one of his films that hasn't bored me during a second viewing.
