Boneshaker, by Cherie Priest. The "real" first book in my book-a-week project, so I should be finished before Monday.

Did in fact end up picking up the "Dresden Files" book by Jim Butcher and starting it..

Putting it on hold for awhile though while I have "Scholar" (L.E. Modesitt Jr.) out from the library again... going to try to finish this one now.

Well, it started out with a clever intro, and got really weird really fast - that seems to be pretty typical for his style!

Wow! I was coming here to post that I just finished Storm Front. It was good. Not fantastic or enthralling, but good enough to read it pretty quickly. Plot was interesting enough. Good job of explaining some rules of magic. Some witty bits. Plenty of books, so we can at least see further adventures. Not sure if there's character growth, or if the writing becomes more complex. I'll probably get the second book soon enough. Probably back to Warhammer for the moment.

Actually, I'm re-reading The Power That Preserves right now. Ballentine's 1977 edition, paperback. I've reached pg. 282.

I was ten years old in 1977. EEK.

I finished Boneshaker. Next I'll be starting Dust, by Elizabeth Bear.

Re-reading the Harry Potter books...started book 3 today.

The one we have around the house is like book 9.
My husband expressed shock (well, partially mock-shock) that I was "starting" in the middle of the series, and I just told him it was the consequence of him bringing it into the house without checking out Book 1 at the same time!

Sounds about right; he's a pretty awesome character to hear the perspective of, though!

Sailing to Sarantium, on my Kindle. Very, very good so far, particularly in the character and setting departments.

Av, I hardly considered ever reading Harry Potter, although I do enjoy the movies considerably-- but if you enjoy them over and over, there's go to be something there.

I know I am going to sound biased as mod of the Rowling forum, but the books are way better than the movies...

Even Jim Dale's audiobooks are awesome. Truly.

What? Yes, the books are much better. Hell, the last few movies really weren't good...I felt that if I hadn't read the books, I wouldn't have known what was going on.

Do yourself a favour. Read them.

I doubt it.

Beorn has the CD versions, and I have never downloaded audiobook files online, so I can not vouch for this site. However, if it is what it claims to be, it is worth the download.
