Good luck on the library gig, Balon.

About 15 years ago, here in Illinois, they changed the pool they drew jurors from the voters list to the list of drivers licensees. Apparently they had heard enough of the excuse that people didn't want to register to vote because they could be called up for a jury.

I was asked once by the Federal court to fill out a questionnaire for jury duty but nothing came of that. I was called once by the local circuit. However it was Thanksgiving week. After spending an hour at the courthouse they told us that the only case that could have gone to a jury was settled.

Last time I got called for jury duty I was giving round the clock care to Hayden, a foster child, who had a traumatic brain injury. The second I called them they said 'never mind'.

Eep! Are you in trouble then? The last (only!) time I was on for jury duty I checked in the night before and found that they didn't need me. I was quite bummed because my job was deadly boring. :P

I'm doing okay these days. . . Somewhat excited becuse I enrolled in an art class, and during the first class I managed to impress both my teacher and the fellow students. I only hope that next week's project is as impressive so that everyone doesn't think the first one was a fluke. ;)

Well, I'm not in trouble as long as I show up Monday. If I don't show Monday I could be heavily fined and even incarcerated according to the notice. 8O

I feel great. Had a great day brunching with Julie and Heatherly and Moose. Moose was kind enough to take a poo on the patio in back of the restaurant. Luckily the people eating right next to where he pooed were laughing hard at his poo squat position and the faces he makes. Then we went to the beach and the girls boogie boarded and I took pictures, some of which I'll post in various threads. Julie took some pictures of me which will be various avatars . One I am using currently is my new assatar which is my actual butt and Moose's. I was sitting in wet sand to take the boogie boarding pics so my wet butt assatar makes me laugh. Hope it makes you all chuckle.

I had a good weekend, with many successes, but I did not finish everything that needed to be done. And right now I am slightly hypoglycemic and dehydrated, so I think I should have a snack before I tackle any more work.

Well, I reported for jury duty. Got signed in, went through all the orientation stuff. Found out it's a criminal trial that will probably last two and a half weeks and then I have to report for actual selection on Wednesday.

Look the attorneys in the eye, Jenn. They hate intelligent jurors. ;)

That sounds interesting, Jenn! :D

I had a crappy day with a good ending. My power was out this morning, so I was a bit late to work. When I got to work I saw my tire was going flat, and by the time I cancelled my non-urgent appointments it was almost totally flat. I put air in it at the filling station a few blocks away, but it just kept rushing out, so I had to change the damn tire in the freezing cold. And then I had to take vacation time from work to go get it fixed. And I got a HUGE paper cut opening my stupid loan offer from my credit card. At three I got a sandwich from Subway which fell apart all over me when I tried to eat it.

However, the flat was due to the valve stem, and I only had to pay $6 for it to be fixed. Then I went home and had a hot bath to make up for the missed shower this morning. And then I went to art class and started another really awesome piece. When I get a chance I will have the first piece framed and get a picture posted here. :D
