Description: Donald is a small rural community of approximately 1700 people. It is centrally situated to larger shopping centres: Horsham 100kms, Bendigo 150kms, Ballarat 200kms. It is a friendly, progressive town and many initiatives have been offered to expand industry and employment in the town. The economy still centres around the cropping and grazing industries. Donald has many lakes surrounding the township and is well known as 'Donald Duck Country'. During Duck Season, many tourists visit the town. Donald has a wide variety of Sporting and Cultural facilities, despite being isolated from specialised services. The Donald people are working very hard to maintain its support services - The Donald Hospital and Community groups eg. Lions Club, Apex Club and St Vincent de Paul, who play an active role in the community. The people of Donald are supportive, friendly and sociable. The parishioners of St. Mary's Parish are closely involved with both the Church and the School and are very generous in their support.
