ElHoggo wrote:Hi there,
I have followed stuff on this website for quite some time, but I always resisted joining in as I find whenever I do join forums it takes up so much of my time.
However I couldn't resist any longer, so here I am.
I'm English born and bred - just for your info. - and I am ...er..old enough to have been around long before the first chronicles were conceived.
Read the first and second Chronicles as they were being written - agonizing wait for each book - have read them 3 times each now and just finished the Runes of the Earth today.
Good book - i was afraid he might have lost it, but I have been unble to put it down.
I've read Mordants Need twice too - but I just couldnt get oin with the Gap stuff at all.
Other fave author is David Gemmell - if you heven't read his stuff then try it, it's gritty and relaistic - blurs the good/ bad guy line that so many other fantasy books find hard to do.
Anyway - glad to be here.
How the hell did I miss this?! A Gemmell fan, and a Brit too! Welcome!
And welcome to all you others too

Hello,
Having fun reading stuff about Covenant and the new book. Having read all the books as they came out, the Covenant series have a special place in my heart.
As I am a vegan now, my latest reading of the series made me wonder why there weren't more vegetarians in the Land

Their ability to find ways of using rock and wood with destroying them would, imo, lead to the realization that harming animals is not necessary either.
Perhaps the animals of the land need an Appointed!
ah at last I have found my calling ...

I too have wondered why there were no vegetarians in the the Land, I guess it has to do with Donaldson's personal beleifs on eating animals.
PS-welcome to the watch

I first read the TCTC in 7th or 8th grade, a good 14 years ago. I loved them then, and have read them about 5 or 6 times, tho only once in the last 5 years. But when I read the first chapter on SRD's website, I was immediately drawn back, and had to bust them out again. Now I'm hating the wait in b/w each book, its like waiting for the next LOTR. I haven't started on Runes yet, I'm finishing up another series and then will start on it. I'm chomping at the bit.

Hello and greetings! I am glad to have read Runes. I didn't know how much I missed the Land until I was finished and now am hungry for more. . . Good thing 2 or 3 years isn't like Land time!

Hello everyone. I am a new member to this board. I am a long time Stephen R. Donaldson fan. I've read most of his books (basically everything except the first three Man Who... novels).
