,,yea,,my twin is over in Hawaii visiting. Wouldn't mind being there cuz its raining in the desert now. See, i'm off work until after New Years. So, today i did more work than i do on a day at work. At least i got a coat of primer on before it started raining,,which will be everybody else's Snow by the time it gets to ya. I am resigned to the idea,,anymore painting will be to the interior of the house, for this go around.

Well that is messed up. For a hood that has very little violent crime on the scheme of things I had a friggin Land Rover alarm going off like crazy tonight and they sent the base popo to deal with what looked like a standard break in but from the convo there was blood in the car AND they were looking for it for another crime. There were four popo cars and they asked me what I saw and I said, nothing. I called for the repetitive alarm and didn't see squat. I'm so the woman on crime shows that doesn't open her window until it annoys her. From what I heard they are looking at this car as a rape/murder scene for something that happened in another hood. Wow. They had the blue lights and the dust out. Hard core. Dudes. I live in the HOOD.

I feel annoyed now and must rant.... What is it with people? They think they can just show up at the shop with no appointment and see that we have quite a few cars already here and ask us to do a brake check while they wait and I tell them that I have cars ahead of them and we can't look at the car for at least an hour. So he's lurking. Every fifteen minutes he's like, "Not yet?" Then he gets all indignant when Steve starts looking at another car and I tell him, "Igor is going to look at your car so please give him a few minutes." Then he starts saying, "It only takes like five minutes so why can't he look at it now????" and I tell him, "Look, we have to put it on the lift and take the wheels off in order to check the brakes, it takes a lot longer than five minutes and again, these cars had appointments already, please be patient." Now he's pacing in front of the shop door. Ugh.

Well I feel a bit better now. When I backed the guys car out there was some guy enthusiastically and in Bill Murray's lounge singer persona singing "Old Fashioned Love Song" in Russian. That was good for a chuckle.

Glad something is finally going right for you. :)

It's cold out, and raining/sleeting. I have some paperwork to do before I go home (I'm off tomorrow). I'm drinking a cup of miso soup and wishing it was wassail. When I get home I have to finish baking goodies and assemble gift boxes of said goodies. And somewhere in there I have to finish making two scarves. And tomorrow I have to go get the stocking stuffers for my family. I feel slightly stressed.

It's the holidays. Merry Christmas to everyone.

Happy holidays, all!

We are relaxing here, Batty and Magickmaker and Shara_Lunison and I. Earlier tonight I made mac & cheese, and then we attempted to make truffles. Tomorrow we're supposed to go to a concert at the Kennedy Center.

In between, we may or may not get freezing rain, depending on how cold it gets overnight. Hoping for just rain, thanks.

Magickmaker says hi to everyone, and she apologizes for not being on the Watch much at all these days....

Well that was weird. Had a customer come in and his starter would not disengage so he brought the car and it's a 99 Toyota Corolla. He decided he didn't want to wait around for it to get fixed and said he didn't want to dump any more money in it and he was apparently planning to buy a new car this year anyway so he just gave us the car and left saying he's gonna bring the paperwork by after the first of next year. The car blue books at $3275 fair private party value. It's got some dings and such and high miles so we will probably try to sell it for $2200. But I ask you, WHO does THAT??? Just abandons a car over a four hundred dollar repair? That's nuts I tell you. Just insanity. 8O

Somebody who doesn't have 400 bucks to spare, right before Christmas?

Me, I woulda taken it to the dealership and gotten what I could in trade for it, instead of abandoning it. But you never know. Maybe this repair was the straw that broke the camel's back for this guy with this car.

I got dumped almost two weeks after the New Years in 2006, which was supposed to be the year we got married. What is it about Christmas and New Years that makes people decide to dump those they are with? The only time I dumped someone, at least I had the common decency to wait until her birthday to dump her.

But I am very sorry you have to go through this now. It definitely sucks. Good luck getting through it, and there is a nice little community here if you need to vent and whine. Feel free to pm if you aren't a public person like I am.

I'm feeling pretty damn good. I put in my "two weeks" at the theater. (Which is really me giving away any shifts they give me and sleeping a lot. heh) I am so efing happy to be finally gone from that hellhole, may the gods have mercy on the souls of those still trapped there. Urgh.

I start the Library next week, and I forsee community college in the near future. Things are going well. :)

Off to my last shift. I might bring my camera. haha.

I just have to walk in. All the employees love me, so it's no biggy.
Come to think of it, two or three of the managers would let me see one too.

Yay for the new job starting soon! You will soon be one of us Balon ;)
*evil laugh*

Thanks Cag.
Now you mention it my previous relationship also ended at this sort of time of the year. Hrrmm...must be the cold and grey effects on people.
There is no good time I guess but would it have hurt to bother to tell me 2 weeks ago when I was there or in two weeks time when I was meant to be visiting again...
You men are quite frustrating at times :P
