thong

Lucimay

The first item to appear on the screen was a thugee thong, and sold in a choice of five new and exciting colors. Scrolling down to the bargain-basement prices the best on offer there was a late 21st Century grease-spot cannon. But trying to pick the right terminator weapon was not so easy, what with all the noise going on in the Lucimay building across the street.

Jaime was dedicated to give her niece some positive insights about how to not rescind into the life of a hooker. She also wanted to solve the problem of the local earwig epidemic. Somehow, she had to find a way to juxtaposition both of those goals and accomplish both before the week ended.

Jaime stuffed the flypaper down into the back of her pants. It seemed like the right thing to do now the bottle of brandy was empty.
"An zhat'z zow it'z zdun...", she explained to her niece, as she tumbled backwards over the neighbor's crepuscular hedge.

canvas

demoscene

The artist's canvas remained blank. He had a vision in his head of calm, blue oceans with the surface broken by a solitary, playful grampus. He obviously was never going to make a career in art, so he sat at his computer and focused his efforts on the demoscene instead.

Deep
Rider
West

Deep in thought, the dessert traveler waited for the cloud of dust on the horizon to become something more substantial as it neared him. After a while he could see that it was a lone rider, galloping directly towards him. He nodded him head slowly to no one but himself, and smiled at the thought of continuing his journey into the West.

Rhomboid
Hemorrhoid
Noid

Some things are easier to anticipate when you've traveled "the barren waste" for long enough to get a little 'noid...
How could Roy expect the galloping horseman to approach him with familiarity and wail for "just a taste of water"?
Once refreshed, he unfortunately began to detail his hemorrhoid problems and the pain in his left rhomboid.

Edit: changed name of POV char and added link in case anyone doesn't know the song I'm referencing and wants to.
"People without hope not only don't write novels, but what is more to the point, they don't read them.
They don't take long looks at anything, because they lack the courage.
The way to despair is to refuse to have any kind of experience, and the novel, of course, is a way to have experience."
-Flannery O'Connor

"In spite of much that militates against quietness there are people who still read books. They are the people who keep me going."

It isn't that I'm indifferent to the song you've highlighted Linah, only I have to stay off video sites and the like.
If only I were nouveau riche I might be able to afford the rates of my current internet provider, who is squeezing me for more than twice the cost of my previous supplier. Money, as with so many things in life, can be so evanescent.

"I hate people kowtowing to me - I don't care if you're new to the group or not!" she insisted in a voice like someone grating a lemon.
"Or, at least not in the general case..." she began, before owling her head around and hollering out, "Waiter - my food is not properly flavored!"
"Now stand up and dust yourself off," she commanded, spitting out her bubblegum.

Because her belief was Calvinistic, she felt the destinies of differently-inclined would always be on different trajectories with respect to salvation.
While destinies of some may seem about to intersect, these destinies would ultimately faollow a course not dissimilar to what is charted in non-Euclidean geometry.
Artisans in her homeland have long struggled with the problem of how to convey these beliefs by what they chose to reflect in their designs.

I enjoyed how you linked those together!
Thought the last sentence was pretty fun.

She sat poised, with marbles in her hands, staring at the way the fabric of the drape flowed.
"No; I am too ignorant to give a model for this," she said at last, losing her marbles, "and if I speak in a way that is incorrect or unclear, we have problems beyond an impropriety problem."
"I fear that many have attempted to use this theological framework to excuse hearts as cold as that alabaster statute."

"It must be conspiracy." Fumed the ship's bellicose purser. Captain Stubbs, the very man who founded the Sea Cow line of cruise ships, had once again forgotten to lock up his pet goats and he would have to chase the blasted beasts once again. So he would be off busy, instead of checking in passengers, giving his apprentice a chance to shine on boarding day and that was too fishy for him to bear.

Pop Rocks
Regolith
Ganja

Moving her tongue around her mouth it gave her a sensation that reminded her of being a child and savoring the sensations after having eaten some Pop Rocks. She felt vaguely uncomfortable on this uneven ground, grinning at the thought that this was what sitting on the regolith on the Moon would be like. Damn, it was so long since she smoked ganja that she forgot it could feel like this!

Training new servers for the bar was an albatross around Rom's neck, lately. He was stuck with a new Ferengi employee named Koto that was always argumentative. He made a mental note to tell his brother Quark to deal with Koto himself.

Uss posted as a matter of expediency so that he could boost his post count. He didn't really want to negate Cord Hurn's self-confidence, but matters seemed to require it. Was it a sloppy solecism, or was 'solopsis' a word so new that Uss didn't know it, or maybe it meant that it just didn't exist inside his solipsistic little world?

And you're right: it should be "solopsism".
