Me too.
Ah well.
Lorin, the rule of thumb is that if three or more Watchers get together, the suffix is -fest.

So it's fast approaching two years....

It's been a bad day...a really bad day. I'm not sure where I'm going anymore.... So I'm remembering the road when it was good to know I didn't belong anywhere...and how that brought me comfort.
I've been dreamin' of the golden hour, when me and Louise would drive as the sun gilded the landscape. We'd put on Chris and listen to him as the sun went down.
I'm remembering a truck stop with dust devils dancing and Diana singing; hotels, motels; the three silver dollars bought for $5 a piece with the tequila flowing and our exuberant tips....
I remember the moon over Denver; I remember the slow drive after and how that Irish music played with didgeridoo and how we thought it was weird considering what we were driving into and where I was going.
I still see and feel the canyon; and remember Lurch's shirt....
...and the bright red brake lights in front of us on the last night we drove....
I remember a whole lot of things and forgotten far too much...
Two years is a long time. <sigh>
So for you, my dear Louise; and for "God"; and for everyone who were on this journey with me and made it so memorable...
...some Mr Whitley
dreamin' of the golden hour...
Waiting for to be confessed
On the floor and all undressed
You can tell me go
Tell me I could stay
But I'll forget you either way
Remember when the house come down
And that dirty romance all around
I believe every word you say
But I forget you every day
When I'm laying on top of that woman
Kind of thing, child, could make me crawl
I mean skin and all
Out on the edge of some canyon
Where I just forget and you can't recall
Now you can't recall
Mama cry and Daddy moan
Starving in some trailer home
Want to burn it down
Burn it where you lay
While I forget you every day
While I forget you every day

thanks thelma.
for all that you remember
and for those 2 weeks.
most of me is still out there on the road,
bouncing over that dusty deserted highway
just north of victorville,
pullin into some flying j lookin for that
next cup of road coffee,
watchin the sun go down from some
anonymous motel parking lot,
spotting the trucks that come from the land
bearing the name of a promise, a covenant,
i have never come all the way back.

you're more advanced than a cockroach,
have you ever tried explaining yourself
to one of them?

i've had this with actors before, on the set,
where they get upset about the [size of my]
trailer, and i'm always like...take my trailer,
cause... i'm from Kentucky
and that's not what we brag about.

That was beautiful Lucimay.
Now if I could just find a way to wear live bees as jewelry all the time.....

It was. Both Sea's and Luci's were beautiful.
And I want Sea to come back.
And I want those gas prices to come back, too.

Looking out my window, Seafest has begun
I grab your hand, we run outside and dance in the dimming sun
Light through the leaves casts a zillion crescents on the ground
And you say hold me tight (Alright!)
Peeking through a pinhole, Seafest has begun
The shadow tag of sun and moon washes over us and everyone
Lives that overlap without ever seeing that it's so
And you say hold me close
Don't let me go
High noon and midnight we're standing in the path
Where shadows beget shadows and every step has an aftermath
Leaving tiptoe ripples of a stepping stone
Nobody walks alone
Things are set in motion, sounds clash and harmonize
And the fire of the moment becomes the light in my baby's eyes
We plant by the moon, by chance and by design
And I know this is mine
This is mine all the time
There's a butterfly in China and a Kansas thunderstorm
A man laying down a dollar and a young girl's clothes being torn
Actions and reactions, echoes only dogs can hear
And I say what's that sound?
Spinning me round and around and round
And I'm looking at the sky, I see Seafest at an end
I am but an arm's length from my lover and my friend
And from every other soul that I may know or never will
Under the shining sun
Life goes on and on

I keep thinking of this song whenever I see the thread title, (although if you substitute "the eclipse" instead of "Seafest," you'll have the original song). If someone who was more a part of it than me wants to change the lyrics, feel free.

Four years is too long to be away. Come back, little Sheba! We miss you as well. Hell, I miss all of my imaginary friends that took on a temporary human form for both of the two events I've been part of.Seareach wrote:BUMPITY BUMPITY BUMP BUMP BUMP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well, this time four years ago I was on the road with Lucimay in the great US of A.
Still without doubt one of the best times of my life!
Miss you guys! xoxoxo
I think we should start taking a collection for the next e-fest.
