There's always hope. Maybe Miles will go to Michigan...

This has been BY FAR the strangest college season I've ever seen.

We were very fortunate to pull that game out. Everyone knew that KY had pinned their season on breaking the 22 year streak, and that they would play their hearts out. And, they did!Menolly wrote:Congrats dlb!!
That was a nail biter for sure. Onward to LSU!!
Now, the problem is that LSU is PISSED about the Arkansas game Friday night, and they're just itching for someone to take it out on. I'm flying to Las Vegas next Saturday morning, hopefully get there in time to find a sports bar to watch the game.
I'm just glad that your damn game is finally off the TV! By 4:30 I had given up rooting for UT and started rooting for someone to win by any means necessary... But congrats all the same.dlbpharmd wrote:We were very fortunate to pull that game out. Hey Mennolly, how 'bout that mudhole stompin we put on F$U last night???

I hear you! I packed up the wife and girls and trudged down to Knoxville for dinner when UT was up 31-14. On the way, KY closed to 31-21, then while waiting for a table KY tied the game (was able to watch in the bar.) From our table, I could see a TV but not clearly enough to know what was going on, and it was driving me crazy!I'm just glad that your damn game is finally off the TV!

Hmmm...this forum has been mighty quiet this week.
What was up with Tennessee's uniforms? Too much friggin' orange, I had to change some of the color settings on my TV just to be able to get through the game. My god, they were awful.
So, just as this college season could not get anymore crazy, both 1 and 2 lose yesterday, and LSU is once again in the national championship spotlight. There are a bunch of crazy scenarios out there, but with the way that this season has gone, who can know what the final outcome of the BCS games will be.
LSU has a few convincing arguments. For example, before there was a college OT, LSU would have been 10-0-2, undefeated with two ties. They are still the only college team yet to lose a game in regulation. And both of their losses were in triple OT. It took six...count 'em...six OT periods for LSU to lose those two games. And one thing that upsets me is that their last loss...a championship season on the line...came down to a failed 2 point conversion attempt. There should never be that much riding on the line based upon if a team (who has completed their whole season) cannot make a 2 point conversion in a triple OT game. That to me (admittedly, my opinion is biased on this) is a harsh penalty for the failure to make one play in an entire season with so much on the line.
And damn, if I didn't like Les Miles before...well, he just went up a few notches for me. I absolutely love the way that he called this press conference before the game and put to rest the so called leak that ESPN and Herbstreit (sp?) broke before the game that he was going to take the Michigan job. He was pissed, wore his emotion on his sleeve, and took the bull by the horns.
Oh well...it's out of everyone's hands now...we'll all just have to wait and see how the BCS gods align.

...but I was rooting for Tennessee in the SEC Championship, as I thought LSU's chances of going to the national championship was slim to none...

Just back from Vegas, where I had no time to post on here about last week's game. Obviously I was terribly disappointed, I hated to see Ainge fall apart like that but that's the way it goes. Congrats to LSU and Jelerak and I'm definitely glad that LSU is in the Nat'l Championship game and will be rooting for them over OSU.
