Yes, I like that sort of thing.

I am listening to my U2 playlist on itunes. The song currently playing is Crumbs from your Table.
"Crumbs From Your Table"

From the brightest star
Comes the blackest hole
You had so much to offer
Why did you offer your soul?
I was there for you baby
When you needed my help
Would you deny for others
What you demand for yourself?

Cool down mama, cool off
Cool down mama, cool off

You speak of signs and wonders
I need something other
I would believe if I was able
But I'm waiting on the crumbs from your table

You were pretty as a picture
It was all there to see
Then your face caught up with your psychology
With a mouth full of teeth
You ate all your friends
And you broke every heart thinking every heart mends

You speak of signs and wonders
But I need something other
I would believe if I was able
But I'm waiting on the crumbs from your table

Where you live should not decide
Whether you live or whether you die
Three to a bed
Sister Ann, she said
Dignity passes by

And you speak of signs and wonders
But I need something other
I would believe if I was able
I'm waiting on the crumbs from your table

Love as thou wilt.

The Singles of Depeche Mode.

Everything Counts

The handshake
Seals the contract
From the contract
There’s no turning back
The turning point
Of a career
In korea, being insincere
The holiday
Was fun packed
The contract
Still intact

The grabbing hands
Grab all they can
All for themselves
After all

It’s a competitive world
Everything counts in large amounts

The graph
On the wall
Tells the story
Of it all
Picture it now
See just how
The lies and deceit
Gained a little more power
Confidence
Taken in
By a sun tan
And a grin

The grabbing hands
Grab all they can
All for themselves
After all

It’s a competitive world
Everything counts in large amounts

The grabbing hands
Grab all they can
Everything counts in large amounts

ITunes on random shuffle. :P
But if you're all about the destination, then take a fucking flight.
We're going nowhere slowly, but we're seeing all the sights.
And we're definitely going to hell, but we'll have all the best stories to tell.

Full of the heavens and time.

listening to my U2 playlist on itunes again today. The latest song is Kite:
Something is about to give
I can feel it coming
I think I know what it means
I'm not afraid to die
I'm not afraid to live
And when I'm flat on my back
I hope to feel like I did

'cause hardness, it sets in
You need some protection
The thinner the skin

I want you to know
That you don't need me anymore
I want you to know
You don't need anyone, or anything at all

Who's to say where the wind will take you
Who's to say what it is will break you
I don't know, which way the wind will blow
Who's to know when the time has come around
Don't want to see you cry
I know that this is not goodbye

In summer I can taste the salt in the sea
There's a kite blowing out of control on a breeze
I wonder what's gonna happen to you
You wonder what has happened to me

I'm a man, I'm not a child
A man who sees
The shadow behind your eyes

Who's to say where the wind will take you
Who's to say what it is will break you
I don't know, where the wind will blow
Who's to know when the time has come around
I don't want to see you cry
I know that this is not goodbye

Did I waste it?
Not so much I couldn't taste it
Life should be fragrant
Roof top to the basement
The last of the rocks stars
When hip-hop drove the big cars
In the time when new media
Was the big idea
What was the big idea
Love as thou wilt.

Was a beautiful day earlier, so I took a nice stroll in the park and listened to Respighi's Ancient Airs & Dances, Handel's Suites for Keyboard (played by Keith Jarrett), and Beethoven's 3rd Symphony. I've been listening to John Eliot Gardiner's Beethoven symphony cycle for the past couple of months, and I'm totally in love with it. Will have to post about it in the Beethoven thread one of these days.

Right now, just finished listening to the 25th anniversary edition of Cheap Trick's Dream Police album. I think it was the first genuine "hard" rock album I heard as a kid back in the late '70s. I just love the guitar sound and the whole production. Dream Police still rocks to my ears, and remains one of my all-time favorite albums.

Keith Jarrett rules!

Magnification by Yes, subdued and lilting, with just the right amount of power--very nice.

Not as good as I was expecting, and it doesn't have the great track Damn, Damn Leash, but it has Adventure and a couple of other good tracks, so i'm happy.
