I was up all night trying to get the little one back to sleep. I'm tired, cranky and depressed. On the bright side, I got 104 (out of 105) on my second Medical Terminology test. If I keep this up, I'll have a 4.0 GPA by the end of this semester.
I need a tub full of beer to drink and everything will be fine.

My head is splitting and I'm avoiding a stack of documentation that has to be completed tonight, but tomorrow I get to hang out with one of my best friends who has spent the last 7 months in China. Woohoo!

They were the henchmen of the strong handsome fairyman, yes? What a blast from the past.
That is correct! I was talking to one of my girls in her room the other night and realized her roommate had Ferngully. So a big group of us watched it together. It was a ton of fun.
In other news:
I'm tired of having a migraine.
One of the girls across the hall from me is playing a video game that includes this incessant ticking noise, and it's driving me crazy.
I went to the bookstore tonight to get a book that just came out, that I really want...and they didn't have any copies.
And I hate the start of a new semester - I have a TON of homework.
My favorite class so far - Spanish. Which I happen to be auditing.

There are bushfires everywhere in our state. We're in no immediate threat. My sister is currently evacuating; Mr Seareach is going to try and get home (as there's fires breaking out in the eastern suburbs of the city where he drives through and where my sis lives).
Send good vibes!

Yesterday was stressful. My sister is aok (they're back home now) but bushfires rage across our state. Mr Seareach (who was away on a work get-together) was lucky to get out: the town he stayed in (lovely spot in the middle of rainforest where I used to go camping all the time) has been burnt to the ground. He had left about 2 hours before road access was cut off due to the fires. Thank God he didn't get stuck!!! But took him another 5 hours to get home due to road closures.
Mr Seareach and I were caught up in a massive bushfire in 2003--haven't forgotten the terror of it and I don't want to think about what all these poor people have been through. It's a living hell. 36 confirmed dead. They say the toll will only rise.

Wish I could send some Winnipeg winter your way, Sea. I can't imagine what you're going through over there.
I just read online that there are now 65 confirmed dead in the bushfires. 640 homes destroyed.

Yeah, this is unbelievable.
The toll is up to 76 dead, and there's a lot of areas that are still too dangerous for people to get into. They expect to find more dead. The worst thing is that the fires came too quickly (the winds were ferocious, even here) and no one had time to put into place their fire action plans (ie: they stay and fight or they go, and if they're staying they know what they're doing). A lot of people had no time to get out or died in their cars fleeing the fires.
Anyway...yeah. Terrible.

Geez, Seareach. I'd love to send some New Hampshire winter your way! Hope everything turns out ok.

thanks Jaz (and MM...sorry...forgot to say thanks yesterday...was a bit shocked by the whole thing).
Hard day. Friends of Mr Seareach lost houses, not sure if some friends are safe. Makes it hit home. 128 now confirmed dead. I'm going to stop mentioning it now coz it's all too terrible.

Well, I've dropped Classical Mythology, and picked up Death and Dying instead. I'm happy with the decision, I think Death and Dying is going to be a better class for me(I know that it sounds depressing, but it's really not).
Good luck to Gil-galad, and good wet and cool and not windy thoughts to the Aussies!

I feel ugh. [unnecessary rant] I don't understand the homework we were assigned today (even after staying after class during lunch time to have it be explained to me), and it's something I can't just bs my way through. I've had a headache all day that has not been responsive to any of the drugs I have. I'm supposed to work in a classroom for a total of 35 hours this semester, and out of the blue the teacher in that classroom has decided that I can't come after all because she already has a student teacher there (and didn't inform the people in charge of coordinating my placement). I tried calling three of the people in charge and none of them picked up or have answered my messages thus far. I have way too much homework for my other classes. My room has been 85 degrees all day (with the windows open, btw) and most of what I've had to do today was in my room, and being too warm for too long is not good for me. [/unnecessary rant]
I hope everybody in Australia is getting all the good luck I seem to be missing, because they certainly need it more than I do.
