Interesting. I could have sworn my sources were accurate. I will say no more.

If your sources said I have a child, they are wrong.

No, that your wife is pregnant. You have my congratulations if she is.

This would give the strongest gods' a free hand to pick off the weaker gods one by one. The weaker gods would risk breaking the law if they banded together to defend themselves.
I am sure that the law would contain provision for defense as opposed to attack brother. Naturally, such provision wuold be a requirement of my agreement.

Nor,

I am having my prophet recruit priests to act as the trading guild to send to your lands. It may take a season or two, depending on what the All-Fatherer says. I just wanted to let you know that I am working on it.

And, thank you for your congratulations. It is much appreciated.

Lord Adomorn wrote:Maeror,

This war against your darker half was, as I said before, for the good of yourself and the Pantheon as a whole. It seems as if Vann has accepted you back into his graces.

If your statements are to be believed, then you have returned to the light and there is no Justice in this war, only Conquest. In my eyes no war worth fighting can be one-sided. It is both or neither.

I believe a meeting is in order. At dawn, Grathgor and Danir, my leaders of this army, will go to the front gates of Fort Hope. I would wish that the Lord-General arrieves to discuss your transformation.

They will be unarmed, as I would ask that the Lord-General be. My men will wait a respectfull distance, but know that betrayal will be met with the Justice it deserves.

Agreed?
I am of course eager to accept a chance at peace, Adomorn, but your motives, for both starting and for ending this war, worry me. You change with small provocation from cooperation to outright war, and back again. While I now see the truth in your reasons for opposing me, still I must wonder at how sudden and overdue was your action against me, considering those reasons.
Despite these things, however, peace is most desireable. My emissary Glianneth will be willing, I am sure, to speak with your followers on these matters. I would worry for my follower, however, alone in the presence of men such as Grathgor, who has shown such zealous devotion to destroying my people. Perhaps some other arrangement can be made, or some assurance provided.

If you wish to meet in neutral territory, I can host modest contingents from both parties in Maggido, or Zamara if you would rather travel by sea, Maeror. If you wish to do so this turn, however, I need to know immediately so the arrangements can be made.

I fear the matter is more immediate than would allow travel over such distance, Simjen. Adomorn's people sit outside the walls of Fort Hope, and my own followers stand within. Since Adomorn's request did not appear to involve the withdrawal of his forces before discussion is concluded, then it must be decided between them.
Your offer is appreciated, however.

Adomorn, after much consideration, I have decided to meet with you on your terms. Peace is worth enough to set aside our arguments. Send forth your men, and Admar shall meet them.
Should any of your more fanatical followers attempt anything at this time, however, know that there will be retribution.

I hope that this matter may be concluded peacefully.

[OOC: I'm sending my moves soon, so I'd hope you're not going to change your mind on this, or my prophet will be left standing and my effort wasted. Since you have not returned to address what I said earlier, I'm just going to have to assume you'll do as you said before, so I can get these done and sent.]

I am announcing an isolationist policy. This means that while I will conduct trade with most nations, my armies and cultists will remain within Nor Pupae's borders. I have no wish to conduct any more invasions nor influence the rest of Eiran.

Many thanks. However, I must warn you that Nor Leviathan - where the trading guild will be built - is also the capital of the Cult of the Worm. This cult handles all of the inquisitions in my lands, and so the inquistors will be dealing with all trade. To be succint - all persons entering my borders (that is, outside of the docks and guild buildings) will be watched and possibly judged by the Inquisitors. However, in the interest of encouraging trade, no ships will be barred from leaving or entering port unless they are illegal or warships. Further, I hereby grant your guild members immunity from punishment by the Cult of the Worm.

I understand and thank you for your candor, Nor. Please let me know what requirements/restrictions you would place on the guild members so that they may act accordingly and will not merit any questions or concerns from your inquisitors.

It is most important that the guild members be neutral and it is my insistence that they obey the laws of the territory, city, and the diety under whose benevolence they trade.

However, understand also that the guild members are there to stimulate and sustain trade at your invitation. Your inquisitors must understand that and should not interfere with any legal trading or exchange of monies or goods. The guild members will act under the laws and requirements of Nor Leviathan and accept and export only those goods and monies your people agree to with your trading partners. Any goods or services that you do not want or did not invite will be rejected by the guild members in conjuction with and as dictated by your Inquisitors.

All taxes and profits would go to Nor Leviathan to distribute to your lands and people as you see fit. I only ask for a fee of 6% of the net profit per season to go to the guild members coffers. This can be paid in gold, silver, or non-perishable goods - except grain which keeps longer.

I also ask for your word that the guild members remain physically intact (not mutated) and not be converted to you or to any other god. They are mine and must remain loyal to me in order for the trading guilds to be neutral.

I am also grateful to accept your word that the guild members not be punished by your inquisitors. Note too that I will be angered by any unfair trading or any lawlessness by my guild members. Trust that, with proof of wrong-doing, they will be punished severely by me for aggregious behavior i.e., stealing monies or goods, or lawlessness. I will not suffer any of my guild members to act in ways as to embarrass me.

What goods did you have in mind to trade? What are you exporting? What do you need imported? I am assembling a list of goods to be traded along with prices. I will post it later today.

Maeror, despite what seems to be an out of the blue attack, this was the only way to get yourself back under your own controll. The fact that the Lord General is holding Hope proves that I was correct.

I have wanted nothing but for you to return to the light.

We will meet at dawn.

The only way? Because of your action, hundreds have died. The actions of your followers brought me to the brink of further slaughter. If it was not for my prophet, who saw the truth when he was rejected, your people would be dead, and I a dark lord reaping the souls of the innocent.
You have done nothing more than cause pain and suffering.

Brothers,

Mistakes have been made. I am not aware of all that has happened between the two of you, so cannot offer an opinion as to which is the more injured party. But I do not believe such is necessary. You have both been willing to let it all end. From an outside point of view, it does not appear that either of you need fear the other will attempt further injury. I beg of you - let it end. Adomorn has already said there is no Justice in continuing this conflict, and Maeror cannot possibly think that doing so is a path to Healing. If either of you truly is the injured party, then you must be the bigger deity, and let it go. Healing and Justice will both be served.

If there is bronze, surely there should be copper and tin? What about iron?

And I'd argue that weapons are a luxury in these times. ;)

Regardless, my dwarrow are eager to trade in weapons and armor. You'll find none better. Also, fine jewelry, tools, and various ores.

Added. Actually, bronze should be a finished good, shouldn't it?

Yes, I agree. But, usually only wealthier people can afford weapons since they are expensive to produce. Merchants, nobles and the like that can afford the upkeep.

Excellent. What city would be your trade center? Would you welcome a trading guild there?[/quote]

You're welcome to establish a trading guild in Zamara, Jove. I think that would be best for trade.
