It's just as tasty the next day!
What's the point of cooking a meal that isn't?! :D

Isn't stroganoff one of those foods that is actually better after sitting a day?

Well, yes because the spices have more time to soak in. That's the very reason I assemble my lasagna the day before I cook it. That way it sits overnight and really gets flavorful. Yummers!

Today I have defrosted an 8.75 lb. oven stuffer. I'm going to soak and salt it, a la kashering, and then season it with sticky chicken spices and cook it in my Showtime Rotisserie.

I'll make home made mashed potatoes and green peas to go with.

I love the chicken done this way, and it will yield plenty of planned overs to use in chicken tetrazzini and cold sandwiches for the rest of the week.

The only thing about this that disappoints me is that the rotisserie does not generate as much juices as oven roasting, especially since I remove all of the fat I can to make schmaltz and gribbenes (Yiddish dishes, Stoney. I don't expect you to know of them). So, I may be unable to make gravy for the potatoes.

Otherwise, this is a favorite meal here. One I am seriously looking forward to tonight!

Tonight is Sheboygan-style double brats with brown mustard, sliced vidalia onion, and sliced Ba-Tempte garlic-dill pickles, all on lightly toasted sesame kaiser rolls. We just can't get decent Chicago-style hard rolls here.

Pizza left over from last night, and a cup of cottage cheese.

Last night I had pan fried catfish in a coating of cornmeal and lemon pepper, with tossed green salad and savory yams.

:LOLS:

Welcome to the Galley, bloodguard bob. I think your sense of humor will be appreciated here.

Last night I went to Julie's for dinner and she made baked chicken breast with oregano rub and rosemary, a side dish of oven baked potato wedges, lightly salted and baked until crispy outside, soft inside, and the other side dish was spinach salad with roasted walnuts, gorgonzola and raspberry vinagrette and for dessert there was apple pie.....

Bloodguard Bob had an appetizer of low salt wheat thins and rondele garlic herb cheese spread, for the main course he had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, and then for dessert he had Ben and Jerry's Neopolitan Dynamite flavor icecream.....

I wonder how long it will take for him to quit guilting me about not bringing him leftover's from Julie's house..... 8O ;) :P

Cheese ravioli with meat sauce from Gondolier's Restaurant. One of my favorites! They make it extra big and cover it in cheeses. Mmm, cheeses.

Pork chops, seasoned with lime pepper (not lemon, lime pepper) and granulated garlic then broiled.
Kraft blue box with frozen peas tossed in just before draining the pasta.

Quick and easy.

Hmmm, I'm having pork chops as well...haven't decided how to do them yet. Was thinking of a honey sauce.

Ate at a local cafeteria called Pick O Deli (we Southerners usually pronounce it "Piccadilly," heh).

They serve some of my favorite spaghetti. Also had a little spinach and sweet potato souffle. Oh--and a roll. Can't have me spaghetti without a greasy piece of bread.

Well, it looks like we're on budget rations the next two weeks, as Paul was just paid Friday and the amount was about half of what he has been averaging.

With needing to put aside funds for the additional tank of gas to get me to and from Tampa airport to fly out to NM for ElohimFest, it's going to be freezer and pantry meals for awhile consisting of a lot of pastas I think.

So...tonight will be polish kielbasa, Kraft blue box and peas again...

Might go to Ryan's or Western Sizzlin. Depends on whether or not my grandfather wants a slice of cake, heh. Sizzlin only has the ice cream machine.

LF, Western Sizzlin left this area of Florida years ago. Is it a buffet now, like Ryan's, or still where you order the steak but can then get the really good salad bar?

Balon, that's one food I don't care for, meatloaf.

:::except for one recipe:::

Potato Frosted Spinach and Cheese Stuffed Meatloaf

But even then, I have to be in the mood to eat it...
