I was just saying the same thing to a couple of my buddies here. Being comics fans, they heartily agreed.

Wow, I've watched a lot since I last posted here... I'll only mention a couple, for brevity's sake...
Zombie Strippers. One of the best worst movies I've ever seen, easily on a par with Amazon Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death. So wonderfully horrible that you can't bear to look away from this travesty of a masterpiece!
Shooter was a great action piece, if the ending was a little emotionally unsatisfying. Still, I think it's one of Wahlberg's better films. Actually, come to think of it, I think it's the best thing I've seen him in!
Speaking of emotionally unsatisfying endings, we finally got around to watching No Country for Old Men. The ending for this one was the "Kick you in the crotch, spit on your neck" kind. It was a really good movie, very gripping and suspensefull...
...and then it ends. The good guy dies, the bad guy gets away, and Tommy Lee Jones retires and doesn't know what to do with himself.
Seriously, this was one of the worst movie endings in history.

Urgh. One of my friends adores Zombie Strippers, purely because he's obsessed (and I mean near-stalker obsessed, seriously) with Roxy Saint.

Underworld. A good movie, but it lacks in one fundamental department: the vampires are not vampirish enough. The Lycans have excellent presence, but the vampires really appear to the viewer as stylish people who shoot at werewolves. Even Viktor lacks malevolence ( despite Bill Nighy's excellent performance).

Got Prince Caspian teed up and ready to go this weekend. I'll probably put a couple of Oscar-type films in my queue like Doubt and Slumdog...

Agreed. There seems to be little that marks them as vampires aside from being
called vampires.

The Monte Carlo tennis semifinals (encore airing). Nadal can still dominate Murray, even though no one else can.
Before that it was Dogs 101. I was surprised to learn that poodles are the 2nd smartest breed in the world. Border collies as the smartest didn't surprise me, but poodles don't have that image.

Watching for my third time, the Monte Carlo final in which Djokovic had a spell of playing inspired tennis and discovered even that wasn't enough against Nadal.

Prince Caspian-coolass-I love Sir Ricacheep! Even though it's stinking Disney they did a great job. (Queen Susan had best not grow up)

Sounds like it was a worthy final!

It was indeed!
Now I have table tennis on, just because I haven't turned the tv off. Mute. In table tennis everything is too small and fast to see, for me.

Same for me. I caught some of the table tennis at the Beijing Olympics, but the insane pace made it hard for me to get emotionally involved. It's like, you blink, and it's over. I much prefer the more measured pace of tennis.

Really? She always makes me think of a brick trying to pretend that it's anything other than a brick and doing a very bad job.
