Report from whole body radioactive iodine scan was due Wednesday, but endocrinologist was out of office. Received call while between screenings at breast center today,; called back and was told the nurse who called was with patients and she would call me back. My battery then died, and I was concerned, as I can not remember a time I've been called as soon as a doctor saw test results, unless there was an immediate situation which needed to be taken care of.
Called office as soon as I came home, but the nurse was still with patients. However, this call handler was willing to tell me that they were calling with good news, and that there was no sign of cancer in the scan.
B"H!!

Ah, Science Museum. End of year school trip 1963. I remember there were buttons to press and things happened, and there was a reproduction coal mine. Got back to the coach, and guess who suddenly realised they'd left their bag in the coal mine? For some reason I wasn't too popular!
Used to go to Covent Garden in the 60s too when I was at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama on Saturdays. Used to skip lunch & General Musicianship. That was in the days when it was a proper flower market. All gone now. Got a picture of myself somewhere standing on a plinth with one of the lions in Trafalgar square too. Best thing was travelling on the "Drain" - Waterloo to Bank underground train.

That is very, very good news, Menolly. Wanted to say so last night but couldn't get on to forum. Also wanted to use dancing bananas but someone has beaten me to it!

Great news, Menolly! Everybody else has used up all the crazy icons, so I'll settle for a hug:

All packed up and ready to go in the morning. Still very sketchy on the itinerary, which usually means lots of time spent in aimless walking.
Also still not sure how early you're expected to arrive at the theatre for a show.

I doubt they worry about it much these days, but I'm sure 30 mins is fine assuming you already have a ticket.

Perfect. That's how I greeted the news when she told me.

Yeah, there's no need to be there earlier than 30 minutes before, all you are going to do is sit around anyway.

we are home. Julie got my cold that I had at the begining of the week.
when she gets up we go get sonny from the kennel.
then she shows me how to transfer my vacation pics from my brand new tablet she bought me for my birthday.
if she is feeling better tomorrow, free comic book day! and then the nra has a huge meeting in Houston.
comics and guns, what could be better?

Why am I so bad at finding things to do on holiday?

Murrin, sometimes you get so busy that when you have time off you don't know what to do with it. Sit down and make a list of things you would like to do. Brainstorm; i.e. don't filter or judge any of it. Out of that can come some cool ideas. If you can plan one really great thing for even just one day, it can make your holiday.

Yeah, I just don't know of anything else I'd be interested in. Especially not with the state my feet are in.
I'm thinking I should have done two nights, not three.

Walked around the various sights in the Westminster end, went to Tower of London, the British Museum, the Natural History Museum, the London Eye. Walked around Covent Garden and some of the other shopping areas.
I wound up going to the cinema last night for lack of better ideas.

No internet at home since I got back. Getting pretty pissed off with Virgin Media lately.
