Should I allow her to submit something and if she does could someone please help give ideas for improvement if she is chosen or not?
Sorry SQ. I remember seeing your post but never responded. Frankly I didn't know how to respond. From what I've seen from the submission committee I believe they will select the best stories without bias but they also have been very good about offering constructive criticism and suggestions.
I myself was rejected last time out. It can be pretty painful so I guess you'll have to judge for yourself what your child can handle. My then 14 year old wanted to submit a story for the first Anthology and I encouraged her to do so. She of course never finished her story so the final outcome was avoided. I guess it all depends on the child.
I think I will have her put something in the Hall of Gifts first. I told her that last night. She seems ok with that. If anyone could give her some constructive ideas to better her work, it would be appreciated. Warning she is a very terrible speller. I will try to check the spelling on her work first before letting her put it in.
If women were in charge, the military would have to do bake sales in order to buy more weapons.

I'm thinking of submitting an idea I had... which, coincidentally, is set in the Pantheon world of Eiran (it definitely fits the Kevin's Watch anthology! :P)

So I have my short story done, and I've done the grammar and spelling edits. Do I just submit it now?

Then it either gets selected and edited again, or cut and I get notified?

Yes, Balon. Go ahead and submit your story now. Of course we'd like you to have gotten it as complete and error checked as you are able but dragonlilly and anyone who might be helping her will do a great job of editing for you.

I've come out of hibernation, got my act together, and submitted a story. Now I'm going back to bed. Excuse me...

Cheerful, woot?

Maybe I should call the office about that smoke detector.... (For the non-clued-in, the smoke detector is right outside my bathroom door. MagickMaker took a shower late one night last week and the steam set it off and woke me up. Arrgh.) Or, hmm, maybe the solution would be for you guys to move the junk out of your shower and take showers in your *own* bathroom....

I'm of the opinion that she should just stop taking such hot showers. You and I don't have that problem.

Or take 'em in y'all's bathroom, as I said (ahem).

You sort of can't judge by me -- I've been showering at the gym lately. (Hmm, we may be straying into WTMI territory here...)

Too late.

In my defense, all I can say is I plan on meeting my deadline, even if the submitters can't. :P
