Not yet Quee. The revelation counts as move 1.

Now we have to wait for the events, (which Xar has promised for tomorrow...*ahem* ( ) ) before we can submit the next moves.

*Ominous voice* Keep pushing, Avatar, and your first event will be a shining sun straight above your deity's head...

Still not convinced I know what a 'move' involves! Does anyone have a record of one of their moves in pantheon one and could give me an example?

Here is my most famous move of the last game(this is not word for word):

5 Points: Crack the World.

Anyway..

Can we get rid of 'the winds of change', it is too dangerous.

Winds of Change?

A move just involves telling Xar what you want to do. You can try to do as many things as you wish, but without specifically telling Xar that you're expending DRP (divine rank points), the effectiveness will be limited.

And trust me on this one, the more detail you give to Xar, the better (unless you're Quee and can get away with anything). Also, just because you try to do something... well, keep in mind the law of unintended consequences.

Oh, and the Winds of Change were just random events that could affect the whole world, a specific god, or whatever.

I'll be sending the turns shortly. As for the map of the world, you'll have to hold on a little longer - I'll post it later this week.

Let's say that I want to raise one of my important followers as an undead. If I don't assign any DVP to the task, it is very unlikely to work, and if by some stroke of lucky it does, the result will likely be far different than I anticipated. If I assign one DVP to the task then there is a higher chance of what I want to happen happening the way I want it to happen. As long as no other god or goddess is using their DVP to block my actions.

However, if I want to prevent a particular person from being able to cast spells things are different because the casting of spells is within my sphere of influence. My chances of success are increased even if I don't assign any DVP, although in that case another god or goddess could still easily block me.

Hope this helps.

Thanks all yes that's helped.

But (!), do I have to spend points on things that are in the sea (my domain) or can I just declare 'this thing is here in this part of the sea' and then spend my points (if I desire) on influencing that particular thing in the sea?

If I get my followers to do something pretty mundane like building a town, do I have to spend points on something this basic?

Wellll...

Let's say you decide to summon a kraken to attack your enemy. You don't have to spend any DRP on it, but it will probably end up being an incredibly irate sea snake. Now, if you already control a kraken, you can tell it to go somewhere... but then, it might decide it wants to go somewhere else. Just like if you tried to use only one point to effect something really big... instead of affecting the whole ocean, it will probably end up being one beach. Now, you can always start small and add to it on additional turns. Like with Quee, 5 points wasn't enough to crack the earth. He had to invest in it for at least a few turns.

To put it into perspective, it generally takes one DRP to found a regular city for your followers (though they might decide to do it for you on their own... followers are unpredictable like that), one DRP to form a fleet (a small one) or some kind of low-level special unit, one DRP to create a spring or small creek, etc.

Well, this is a difficult turn to make. It all depends on the tsunami. As I understand it, it's basically just the shifting of incredibly large amounts of water. As such, it shouldn't really be affected by global weather patterns and so on. So if it's going to be a kind of mythical, enormous wall of water, my fleet is about to get pounded. Of course, that also assumes that the fleet moves as fast or faster than the tsunami (hard to imagine for even a godly commissioned fleet) and that the event started an equal or greater distance from Drakkan than the distance to the blockade.

All that in mind, I'm going to go off what I know of tsunamis and assume it will act like a regular tsunami. I will spend one DRP to communicate a vision to all my clerics, those stationed with the fleet as well as those on shore. The message is threefold, and it is this: Solus is calling all his seafaring followers to the sea. He is testing the courage of those who only cling to the edge. All who can must board whatever craft they are able, staying out to sea beyond the depth of the longest anchor chain, returning only when absolutely necessary or after they receive my sign. Those who are not able - women, children, the infirm - must stay away from even the sight of the sea until the sign lest they be punished. Anything valuable should not be left behind. And this message must be spread up and down the coast, to every passing ship. Salvation can only come from obedience to and worship of the Lord of the Sea.

In this time of testing, I would like to exert some non-DRP influence in getting them to form something of a community at sea. Sharing goods and information, centralizing defenses, aiding with repair efforts, and so on. I want to plant the seed of a floating city.

With my other two points, I will bestow the best of luck to L'im Verthackas for the coming turn. The kind of luck that keeps you drawing high when the odds say you should be drawing low. The gambler's plea for one more good roll before the dice turn. Anything unordinarily bad will be diverted or delayed. Thus, if Nephirthos or anybody else plans anything hostile, I am not so much trying to counter it as shift it just enough. Like the martial arts master who exerts a small force to turn his more powerful foe's strength away or even against him... or better yet, into the path of another attacker, fouling them both. Of course, this will be focused on my prophet, who along with his talisman will guide my energies as circumstances dictate.

As with the demon threat before, the L'im Verthackas Council should offer hefty bonuses to anyone willing to sign on with security for the duration of the Games.

And one last thing about the Games. There will be a surprise event, the results of which will only be used to decide the overall winner in case of a tie. It is, of course, a game of Luck. And it will be simple. Whoever wins the most coin flips, calling heads or tails, wins. The winner will receive an honorary title and a modest prize. And my clerics should keep a close eye on this event. If it's not known already, my prophet will reveal to them that there is a Chosen One, yet unfound in the world.

The tsunami heads for Drakkan, and your fleet blocks the port.

The King of the West is named your prophet, and receives the artifact Morgath delivered to you.

Given the security increases needed for the tournament, you use your power to strengthen these measures.

The planar devourer who destroyed Candir shakes again in its sleep.

Yes, unfortunately I can't be very long-winded with my move mails, since I have to write 10 or 11 each time ;)

Yeah, it took me several moves to crack the world. It was wroth it though. That is the thing, if you want something special done you have to work on it

Thank you all.

Ok I reckon I need to start off with about 500 DRP - that possible?

(Whatever happened to omnipotency? sigh.)

Chisi La'Roo's Prophet story was eaten by the internet and she's rather sad at the idea that she has to type it all over again. Xar has been notified with all the basic info...

Ok, ok. Tomorrow. I'll retype it all tomorrow. My apologies for being a tard.

Chisi La'Roo also know's that she needs to get back to someone about somthing. She's doing that right now.

No need to worry about me, Balon! It's hard to leave me behind!

Except this one time, when I was just a young little tadpole of a thing, and I was supposed to catch a boat that would have taken me...

never mind, that's a very long story, you know? It's not a good time for that one anyway. Maybe later.

Thank you for the welcome Vadhaka. ;)
