Lyr darling, we have already ousted early April as a possible date, it's now up to June dates. You are welcome to come equipped with sleeping bag and mat and crash on the floor of wherever I live. But think JUNE girl, think June....

Any weekend in June is good for me, as well. How close is Benicia to San Francisco? We have family there (well, the kids do, anyhow...).
It makes more sense to combine the FBH wrap party and the Elohimfest anyhow. I was beginning to wonder how I was going to make them both....

i was lookin forward to GOING somewhere.
this is too easy dagnabbit and how MANY of you will come if it's all the way out here and you live all the way over there???? hmmmm?
Ali, Benecia is near Vallejo and there's a ferry at Vallejo you can take to the city. i have a friend who used to commute that way so i don't imagine it takes all that long.

you're more advanced than a cockroach,
have you ever tried explaining yourself
to one of them?

The thing is, if you look at the map: (www.frappr.com/kevinswatch) most of us, at least according to it, are in the east. It would seem to be most fair to have it in that area, or closer to that area.
I don't mind going to both FBH party and Elohimfest. It would be convenient to some (myself included) to mix them, but not convenient to most. Needs of the many, and all that, after all...

I am not opposed to having Elohimfest on the East Coast. I just thought it might be tough for alot of people to travel to different locations in a short time. I am cool with wherever you guys decide to have Elohimfest.

Personally, I had in mind a seperate event for KW folks, a more quiet evening with SRD, dinner, Q&A, etc. Like E'fest 2004. FBH party might be on a seperate night. At least that's what I was thinking.Seareach wrote:I come from the south....
Just talking about me here (which may mean diddly-squat): I don't think that I would come to the FBH wrap party. No offense intended, but was hoping for something a little more low-key to catch up with my fellow watchers and mix with SRD.
Waddles, the past 2 E'fests (or Watch get-togethers, if you will) were in NY and Washington, DC. Also, with Fatal Revenant coming out next year, it'd be great to have this out west so that we could involve SRD (again, like E'fest 2004.)

Well, I am cool with combining or not combining, I just thought it made some sense since SRD is gonna be here anyway as far as he knows but you guys decide what you want to do. I am planning on crashing Elohimfest no matter where you guys decide to have it....well it also depends on whether or not I go to Ireland in the spring, cuz if I do that I might not have the fundage or time to fly across the states. Guess we shall see....

I thought that kind of made sense too to have it in San Francisco because of SRD's plans. Also, since I've never been there, San Francisco has some appeal as a destination for me. I could spend a week or so exploring the area and there are a couple of people out there I could look up.Cameraman Jenn wrote:I just thought it made some sense since SRD is gonna be here anyway as far as he knows but you guys decide what you want to do.

A doctor friend of mine visited SF and said it shocked her. There are a lot of homeless about. That's a shame because SF is top on my list of America cities to visit.

Well, we do have alot of homeless but it's more because of the moderate climate than the economy of the city. If you were homeless you would probably gravitate to somewhere that wasn't all snowy or rainy or horrible. Lot more panhandling days that way....

Can't they just gravitate out of sight?Cameraman Jenn wrote:Well, we do have alot of homeless but it's more because of the moderate climate than the economy of the city. Well, once you have lived here long enough you begin to not see them anymore so they sort of gravitate out of sight.....

Um, if I'm to travel somewhere that requires flying, I'd expect there to be more than just one night of stuff to keep me entertained.
So a multi-night deal with the party one night and a quiet get-together another night, and some time to explore SF... that sounds like the best of all possible worlds, no?
At any rate, my money/courses issue still stands, and I have a wedding to go to in early June, so mid to late June would probably work better for me (unless those courses end up being then, in which case sorry, but my career's gotta take precedence or I'll be living in my mother's house until I'm thirty
).
[Edit: Also, I hate flying commercial, so I'm gonna be looking to make a road trip out of this.]
