You spek true, Han-shan... A son of a bitch was he.
For those who have guessed, you are close....but consider the answer more broadly. He is what he is.

Alas, the mad hatter has been revealed!! It was I...A Gunslinger.
My namesake was not ROLAND the Headless Thompson Gunner, but Roland of Gilead...A Gunslinger!
The next Hatter should be here shortly!

Clue 1: Morin ordered it. Korik accepted it. I took it upon myself to finish the story, quite literally, I might add.
Clue 2: I adore those who would take up the gauntlet, those who would face the challenge out in the world rather than sitting idle and spinning tales by warm fires at the keep. Keep your eyes small before such a one as that, for if he is brave, he will likely return with riches, perhaps a dragon's head, and a new lady on his arm.
edited to update clues.... any one looking?

Ahhh there is one who seeks me, as I am always seeking; I am a seeker, with my little eye before me...
Look to the tale Tull told, but it was only the beginning of the end; only those who have ascended Kevins Watch would have caught a glimpse of it as it unfolded from my hands..... No Haruchai ever heard the Tale I told.

Ahhhh! those of you who have taunted from this crooked throne before seek to know me! Yet now I taunt, and you are taunted!
My Namesake was never named or known in the land, yet my writings are kept within a chamber reserved for the common folk to make craft for the Lords and denizens of the Land; that same chamber where Elena revealed herself to Covenant for who she was.
I charge you: Find that place, for it will lead you to me. Look to the previous clues for guidance.
Quickly!

Its funny how the names of places here are the same as the names of places in the Land...

My namesake was not known in the Land, because it was never part of the land or anything in that world!
I have worked to finish the Tale that Tull began, of a trio of doomed warriors, and their fate. Mhoram foresaw that fate, but how it fell upon them was never known. I have taken it upon myself to tell that story...
No one in the Land has heard this story, but those who have ascended Kevin's Watch could have access to it, if they could only see. it is stored in a chamber named for the chamber Elena first revealed herself to Thomas Covenant.
Now tell me: Are you not now upon Kevin's Watch?

I am the searcher with a little eye before me: iQuestor!
I wrote the story of Korik, SIll and Doar's fall in the Hall Of Gifts, where
Elena first revealed herself to covenant!
The new Hatter should make an appearance soonest!

Mad Hatter, number whatever.

I really need to get better at these clues.
I am unvieled, and the next Hatter will be along promptly, I'm sure.

Indeed, my always observant eye uncovered the imposter and I suggest my identity by telling you that.

Failed guesses have led me to suspect another clue is needed.
The darkness of my eye is matched only by its brightness.

And still the guesses fail.
I hope that I am only subtly prolific.
